  • Description

    Hello everybody,

my name is Emma, I'm 24 years old and just finished my bachelor’s degree in architecture at the Technical University of Graz in Austria.

I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Passau (Bavaria) at the confluence of the three rivers Danube, Inn and Ilz and in the three country corner of Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. Being Bavarian, I grew up with lots of tradition and culture - Lederhos'n, Beer and Brez'n in a historic town embedded in a beautiful countryside that gave me the chance to enjoy my environment, be that architecture, art and nature. All that makes me grateful and proud of my native country.

After many years in front of the PC, it is time for me to find out what else I would like to do in life - something that brings me satisfaction and am therefore looking forward to a new perspective on life and new challenges in the upcoming year! I'm curious to see where the path will lead.

I grew up in a very sociable and active family of 4 together with our beloved family horse Sam.

I love being active outside riding horses, skiing, hiking or training for a half marathon. Photography has also always been inspiring to me, I enjoy paying attention to small details in my surroundings!

I was lucky to meet the most interesting people from all over the world during my Erasmus year in 2021/2022 in Venice (Italy) where I got to spend two semesters studying abroad which I enjoyed to the fullest.
Living in a foreign country, where I understood the language only partly, allowed me to grow so much and helped me in my personal development after 2 years of Covid-isolation. It gave me a totally new perspective on my life and deepened my understanding for my brothers and sisters. On top of that, it showed me how to live la dolce vita: not rushing and not taking things too seriously, but rather taking time for important things in life :)

I'm very much aware of the quality of life in a social and environmental sense. With my family, who is so fond of travelling, I also got to see many parts of the world. Travelling and seeing foreign places and meeting new people is very thrilling and invigorating to me. It also makes me understand that despite our individuality and uniqueness we are all the same. It gives me the insight of us being one big global family. I also believe in the importance of sharing ideas and time together as well as caring for and learning from each other as much as we can. I am looking forward to meeting you!!

I'm very people-oriented and curious to see and learn new things.
As mentioned above I like people, nature and animals. I already have a working experience of 3 months from July -Sept 2018 at a private family ranch in North America. The work there was very versatile and made me participate in everything that needed to be done on a ranch, be that working in the veggie garden or mucking out the stable, driving trucks, making hay, running errands in town, help prepare meals and serve food to the ranch family of 25 people and clean up the kitchen.

Besides studying at the university I used to work as a waitress for a high-end caterer in Passau every once in a while. At different locations we organize receptions for weddings and birthday parties and company events.

I do like office work and I'm good with computers and internet. I could see myself helping at the reception of a little hostel or hotel. I also have a creative vein.

  • What else ...

I'm well aware of the privilege I have as being born in one of the richest countries in the world. Confronted with the refugee crisis beginning in 2014 in Germany, I felt the need to volunteer in one of the many refugee homes in our city. Supporting them in finding their way around in our country and managing their daily routine, also teaching them German and Math, I gained valuable information and deep insights into different cultures and religious denominations outside of Europe.
