Hi everyone! :) I am Emily, from San Diego, California.

I have started my Europe travels in Geneva, Switzerland for Feb 2024 and will be venturing to Spain and / or Portugal in March! I am specifically interested in working on vineyards / wineries to get first hand experience learning the cultivation process.

I live an active lifestyle, running, playing beach and grass volleyball, camping, hiking, surfing, practicing yoga (specifically hot yoga sculpt), reading, writing, and meeting as many people as I can.

I am widely energetic, deeply inquisitive and curious, and innately hard working. While abroad, I am specifically interested in making connections with new friends, contributing work toward a non-profit or working on vineyards / wineries, experiencing all different types of European cultures, and studying / learning French and wine.

My long term goals are to open a restaurant / see where the world of wine will take me.

I believe we should never stop learning and exploring this earth. I view this time as the beginning of a new chapter of life, I would love for you to be a part of it! :) And for Hosts, I would love the opportunity to learn through emersion into your culture. I am grateful for the chance to get to know you and contribute to your household the best I can.

My noteworthy skills that may correlate to Workaway are my ability to thrive in new situations, learn quickly and efficiently, keep a positive attitude, interact with all types of people and cultures, be a team player in demanding situations, and work hard toward a collective goal. I grew up camping, which has led to a strength in figuring out solutions in tough outdoor situations. I am great with children and have spent a great deal of hours cooking!

I love meeting new people and thrive on good conversation :) I am a hard worker and am ready to delve right in! I am highly interested in the wine industry and am driven to learn first hand. I've worn multiple hats in the small business world, which has led me to be able to see the big picture as well as keep detail minded.
