Description
Hello everyone,
My name is Emilie, I’m a 28-year-old woman from Normandy, France. I’m a psychologist and I work with children and teenagers who live in residential care and have experienced difficult life situations.
In my personal life, I absolutely love animals. I volunteer for a cat rescue association: I foster cats at home, including stray cats that need care, and help them find a loving forever home. I grew up in the countryside, I love being outdoors, and I’m used to working in the garden and taking care of plants.
I’m also very sporty and love staying active. I enjoy running and CrossFit, and I’d love to start boxing. I also did horse riding for 15 years. Finally, I enjoy creative and hands-on activities. I do pottery with my mother, who has her own pottery workshop.
I have travelled to Norway twice through Workaway, in two different years. The first time, I worked on a farm, and the second time, I helped renovate a boat and also did some babysitting. I absolutely loved these experiences, and they made me want to discover new places, meet new people, and have more adventures.
As for my English, I understand it quite well, but I mostly speak using basic English. I can communicate and make myself understood, even if I’m not fluent yet.
I’m really looking forward to meeting you and creating a new adventure together! 😊 -

More details about your skills
My work has given me a range of skills. I know how to help children and young people in difficulty by supporting them in their daily lives or by running workshops.
I have a basic knowledge of gardening thanks to my parents, as I grew up in the countryside with a large garden. I love getting my hands dirty and working outdoors.
I love animals more than anything and I know how to take care of them. I've been riding for over 10 years and worked every summer in the riding school next door. I have a good level of riding despite the years without. I'm also a volunteer in an association, I welcome stray cats into my home and look after them.
Lastly, I'm sporty and enjoy manual activities such as painting and pottery. -

What else ...
I think I said a lot in my presentation. I want to be honest and tell you that my level of English is average. I understand it well but I don't speak much of it. I want to improve it by travelling.

Feedback
It was my first experience with workaway and my English was not very good. Michelle, Hermod and Emma made me feel very welcome and I quickly felt at home. They adapted to me and always made sure I understood everything.

We loved having her here! Emilie is intelligent, quick, works very well independently and was loved by all our animals :). She is a good rider, and she quickly picked up how we do things with our horses … read more
