  • Description

Hi! We’re Elizabeth and Maya, two enthusiastic and hard-working friends excited to dive into new experiences. We met through Girl Scouts and joined workaway for the chance to meet new people, and lend a helping hand wherever we can. Whether it’s organizing, cleaning, teaching, gardening, or just sharing good conversation, we are excited to and contribute and can’t wait to be part of your project!

    Elizabeth:
A little about me. I love to travel and seek out adventures. I’ve lived and traveled all over, including studying abroad in Australia. My favorite place to be is definitely at the beach! I wanted to try out workaway as a chance to travel and meet new people before I head to grad school in May. I’m organized and a hard worker. I used to own a car detailing business and enjoy cleaning. I also worked as a receptionist/paralegal for a law firm so I know how to work in customer service and get along with almost everyone. I have been told I am a good cook, but have recieved more compliments on my baked goods. I also managed the social media for my club ultimate frisbee team in college and know the basics of website building as well. I love dogs and all animals, and of course I love my dog Delilah the most! I also have a little sister and have worked in child care so I’d consider myself an expert at caring for kids or animals.

    Maya:
Hello! I'm Maya! Here's a little bit about me:
I love the outdoors and nature! I was a camp counselor for two years and led many nature hikes and taught activities such as shelter building. Elizabeth and I are also life long girl scouts and share a passion for outdoor activities such as camping, hiking and cycling. I also love animals and have volunteered at a guinea pig rescue shelter in the past.
I have also volunteered as an accessibility coordinator for people with disabilities for multiple festivals, and inclusion of others is something I take really seriously and am passionate about.
I love to travel, and I have been many places around the United States and even Canada by myself. I am a bit shy at first but I make friends easily and get along with anyone. I have friends from all over the world and from all different walks of life and various backgrounds.
I am a hardworker and have worked on various outdoor projects with construction and landscaping work. I have dedicated myself fully to every job I've had and have been able to develop my customer service, people skills and adaptability as a result.
I am studying to be a historical archivist and I volunteer once a week at the local history museum in Pittsburgh. I have worked on a few exhibits myself and have studied and helped preserve the histories of several local individuals. I've worked in areas such as disability and women's studies and I really just love getting to learn about different people and experiences.
I'm really excited about the opportunity to travel and meet new people, learn about local culture and spend time in nature.
