  • Description

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." ~Helen Keller

Me: A writer looking for inspiring little corners around the world to tuck myself while I work on finishing chapters. Hard worker with a streak of perfectionism and a constant song in my head. I don't whistle while I work, but I do often hum. :)

You: Hosts who are readers and will volunteer constructive feedback are certainly not a "must" nor expected, but they ARE sunshine on my shoulders, and make me happy. Otherwise, people who are laid back and smile more than they frown are favourites.

Love being handy and helpful with my new friends. A master of many tools/skills and born with a "keen grasp of the obvious" (my dad's quip!). The perfect balance of physical work, mental work and leisure time keep my machinery well oiled and running smoothly.
"Work and play are words used to describe the same thing under differing conditions." ~Mark Twain

Kitchen skills: "Flavor scientist", herb enthusiast, cookie commandant, bread baker, soup sachem, sandwich mastermind, "from scratch" over packaged every day. I believe meals are magic moments, not something to be rushed through.

CAN's: Creative problem-solve; bring the Funny; overcome obstacles; lift spirits; fix brokenness; organize space; see possibilities; engage in endless deep meaningful conversation; sleep a full night every night; create ambiance.

CANT'S: Moderate ice cream consumption; be at a firepit and not poke it; be indoors when it's nice out; give sympathy in place of inspiration; let someone struggle with a problem I know how to fix; pretend to be interested in gossip or media.

Degrees/professional: Psychology, Sculpting / Management, Life Coach, tech savvy (but these days, only if I have to be); renovation work/ master of many tools and skills (as I mentioned)
Mediums: Wire, clay, wood, natural and found objects - dabble in painting and drawing- doodling (tangles) but work best with 3 dimension.
Stage time: Stand-up, story-telling, lead singer, community theater, motivational speaking.

Brand new to WorkAway but have an exhaustive list of top-notch references available upon request. Fellow humans caught up in the simple life preferred. Drama- free, ego- free, med-free, vice-free. Hearty team player who regains strength in solitude. Attention to detail is an instinct more so than a choice.

    Flexibility is my super power.
"If you have always done it that way, it is probably wrong" ~Charles Kettering

    Character is a constant choice.
"In each human heart are a tiger, a pig, an ass and a nightingale. Diversity of character is due to their unequal activity" ~Ambrose Bierce

My management philosophy condensed in three quotes:
"Leadership: A leader is a person you will follow to a place you wouldn't go by yourself." Joel Barker
"When someone does something good, applaud! You will make two people happy." Samuel Goldwyn
"Expectations are premeditated resentments" ~Anonymous, but attributed to many.

And one final quote for you,
"Sure, we can do that!" ~Wendy

I am good at many things, but languages seem to be a little more difficult. Immersion in Spanish helped me improve greatly. I'd love to have another added to my short list. !
