Christian and I are a young couple from Como, and we are 26 and 24 years old! Christian is a chef, and I am a marketing manager. We share a passion for exploration before committing to a settled life. We are very adventurous people; we like to hike, discover new things, and are keen on learning about new cultures and exploring the world. That’s why we find Workaway amazing, as it gives us the opportunity to discover new environments and meet new people and cultures while living with locals.

We're a hardworking duo! Christian's excels in the kitchen as a chef, and he's got a green thumb too, taking care of animals and plants on our farm. I've worn many hats, from marketing manager to waitress, babysitter, and even volunteering at a dog shelter.

Elisa y Christian nos contactaron unos 5 meses antes de venir a nuestro complejo turístico el cual está descripto externamente en esta web. Intercambiamos muchos mensajes previos donde brindamos toda la información clara y precisa. Además tuvieron acceso a toda nuestra información en redes sociales, website, y feedback de los más de 50 voluntarios… read more que han pasado por nuestro lugar en los cerca de 10 años que ya hace que estamos en este sitio.
Así y todo y sin ningún motivo de nuestra parte, luego de una semana de estar acá decidieron que no era lo que buscaban. Esto lo comunicaron por la noche después de la cena y partieron la mañana siguiente después de tomar su desayuno, a pesar que les pedimos que nos dieran un par de días para buscar un reemplazo ya que confiamos en ellos para que cuiden los huskies para la siguiente cabalgata que estaba en puerta en apenas dos días más.
En esa semana compartieron con todo el staff, como siempre lo hacemos, el banquete final (gran asado argentino) de una cabalgata (al que llegaron tarde a la mesa, después que los clientes y resto del staff ya estaban sentados en la mesa), y comimos todos juntos con clientes y staff, también antes de llegar a su semana de trabajo (ellos mismos reconocieron que no eran más de 4 horas al día) ya habían hecho 2 trekkings en las montañas que nos rodean, uno de los voluntarios les enseñó como montar por primera vez un caballo, les mostramos y explicamos cómo funciona la red de agua off grid qué creamos, les pedimos una lista con todo lo que les gustaría tomar para sus desayunos y tener en su cabaña, el resto de los voluntarios les dejaron la habitación doble para ellos, a pesar que las otras dos chicas estaban desde ya había un mes ocupando esa habitación.
Tuvieron muchos problemas de comunicación, no intentaron hablar español, él no sabe una palabra de inglés, su única lengua es el italiano de manera que no puede relacionarse con clientes y compañeros de trabajo, ella habla el inglés pero no lo comprende completamente el inglés. Consignas simples como "dejar 5 papas para una ensalada del grupo de cabalgata" no fue entendida y a la vuelta de 4 días de cabalgata habían comido todas las papas y no el resto de comida que dejamos.
Pero realmente esto no es el problema para nosotros como host, ya que entendemos que es parte del intercambio y del aprendizaje.
El problema y por el cual nuestro feedback es negativo, es la falta de responsabilidad al tomar la decisión de venir a ayudar a nuestro particular lugar, tuvieron 5 meses de tiempo para investigar y preguntar todo lo necesario, les dimos nuestros teléfono personal al que tuvieron acceso para sacar cualquier duda posible, hicimos 50 kilómetros para buscarlos a la terminal, a los 5 días de estar acá ya estaban tomando día libre y haciendo hikkings, y de la noche a la mañana sin previo aviso decidieron que no era el lugar adecuado y siguieron su viaje. Aún cuando pedimos un par de días para buscar gente ya que trabajamos con animales y no podemos dejarlos solos.
Cuidado! Creo están solo buscando vacaciones y lugar donde comer y dormir.
