Hi lovely people,

we are Sabrina and David.
We are kind and gentle people who love cooking, animals, being in nature (hiking, harvesting local fruits, berries and mushrooms, garden work).
David was a Steiner Kindergarden teacher, an IT CTO, has a son and was married twice and is probably the best massage therapist I know :).
Me (I am managing this account), I studied veterinary medicine and then became passionate in transformation, people, coaching and facilitation. I love painting, DIY and beautifying places.

Since 2 years we have both been living as slow travel nomads, supporting, living and volunteering in international communities.

We both meditate daily to stay centered and connected. (Easy, we laugh a lot and are good fun too).

What we can offer, when we stay with you:

I love being with animals and gardens. In these environments I love variety - feeding, harvesting, building somethings together (not alone ;)).

I am good at listening and reflecting themselves back to people and a treasure in family groups.

I am reliable, a good cook and I loooove to come up with creative and practical ideas for challenges.

David and Sabrina stayed with us for a couple of months, and they became part of our community.

David took care of the meals, and he conjured up a lot of tasty delights, working within the needs we had, navigating the dietary needs of the group, to create elaborate and nutritious meals, owning the process. He has also made some insightful… read more comments about our mix of macronutrients and we'll switch out some ingredients here and there to see how we can incorporate more protein into our regular meals.

We also enjoyed his insights and experiences in life and business and we discussed our plans for our project with him. He helped out with maintenance an outdoor tasks as well, and helped us deal with situation with the sewage system, which helped us deal with it.

Sabrina was a whizz around the property and confidently took on tasks to take care of our wooden decks, the greenhouse, organise the garage, among other things. She was also processing and drying a lot of mushrooms and enthusiastically studied and documented a few local species in our knowledge management system.

She has a natural flair for facilitation, and she created a lot of notes during our check-ins to capture what people were expressing, or tasks that needed doing, and displayed them on boards we had set up. We really appreciate that “agile” way of doing things here!

Taken together, they brought the ability to hold a space for emotions and difficult discussions, and didn’t shy away from controversial topics. We all learned from these discussions, or being able to hold space for one or another of us who was going through some personal struggle. This is the superpower and special gift that they bring to any place.

We also enjoyed how much they explored our area, met the neighbours, found lots of fruit and mushrooms to forage and process into yummy meals and treats. They even managed to track down some elusive Chaga and bring it back, not many of our guests manage that - in fact, that was a first!

They also introduced us to a number of their friends, lovely people, with quite a few of whom we will continue to connect with. What a nice gift!

David and Sabrina are also very good at expressing appreciation and acknowledging the struggles and unseen contributions of people around them, and of each other. Another “soft” skill but essential when creating teams and communities.

During their time here, we had many open and honest exchanges, and we felt like we were a community, in a very down to earth and real way.

We wish them well on their continued travels, and appreciate their ongoing contributions to our online community. They will always be welcome here.

Gratitude for giving David and me such a beautiful, welcoming home. For doing the mycelium work underground and fruiting in surprising ways.
