Travelling
Description
Adventurous and hard working, we enjoy outdoor activities, travel, and at home in Scotland growing many of our own fruit and veg. We are fairly practical and have constructed our raised beds, fencing and patio areas - Ross has also built a log store and would be happy to learn even more about these skills. He has been on a dry stone wall course though not yet put it into practice, and Sue has done a lime re-pointing course and does most of the home decorating. As we are travelling for a few months next year we are interested in doing some Workaways to learn more about a local area, the culture and exhange ideas on gardening, organic fruit and vegetable growing.
UPDATE - Over September and October 22 we will be travelling from Turkey to Greece and then Albania. We could potentially consider shorter workaways of around a week in late September and early October in either north west Greece or south Albania. We do have a Fiat Ducato campervan which would need somewhere secure and it also means access would need to be straightforward - we've done some pretty narrow mountainous roads and would prefer some less steep ground and proximity to a village with some amenities if possible.Interests

More details about your skills
As keen gardeners who have started our own growing areas from scratch we are fairly knowlegable on that front with Ross being quite a handy man in terms of wood construction. As vegan/vegetarian and being health consicous Sue in particular is a good cook and creative in the kitchen, always happy to try new recipes. Both of us are keen hikers and have mountain navigation qualifications, and happiest being outdoors. Both of us have volunteered for the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and led expeditions and Sue has also worked for World Challenge and led a group in Iceland. We have both travelled fairly extensively but never to Eastern Europe and this is the focus of our travels in 2022. Sue is also very keen on yoga and is a certified life coach. (She does not teach yoga!) Other interests include our love of animals (dogs in particular) and open water swimming and cycling. We are always curious to try new things and to share experiences and learn from others. We are both first aid trained.

What else ...
Basically we are a pretty relaxed down to earth but hardworking couple who enjoy meeting people. We love to share stories of travel, adventure and learn about different cultures. As we travel through Eastern Europe in particular we want to immerse ourselves in the history and learn as much as we can. We are quick learners, good communicators who love life and want to get as much out of our travels as possible. We are ever trying to reduce our carbon footprint so learning about eco projects particularly appeals to us.
