Hello there fellow workawayers,

I would describe myself as a curious and open-minded person. I like to enjoy myself, with lots of creative potential as well as being cerebral and well-organized. So something between a greenhorn artist and a reliable office clerk. And I am obviously no good in filling out descriptions about myself ;-).

I was never drawn to vacations where you sit around some pool all day, drinking cocktails while gossiping about some of the other guests in your resort. Never could see why that would be a fun thing to do. To me its much more interesting going some place new, getting to know people who actually live in that city/place/country, learning about the culture and language and participate in some kind of project while I am there.

I recently found out about workaway and I am so looking forward to try this out - looks perfect to me!

I have professional work experience in three areas, maybe one of them might be of interest to you:

A: Editorial work & Journalism & Image editing
I am working as a freelance scientific editor, currently getting my degree in Journalism as well. So I know how to engage people through writing and I know my way around Word and Photoshop. I have a keen eye for overall-structures as well as details.

B: Physical Work
Since I have some experience in archaeological field work I have no problems with getting my hands dirty. Helping with construction work or digging a giant whole in your garden so that your kids can have a cool pool to jump into, no problem :-).

C: Coaching & Self-Help & Mental Health
I am a licensed coach and mental health practitioner and used to be a consultant for people with disabilities and a project coordinator in the self-help area for young adults.

Professional work experience aside I am interested in many things, for example theater, creative writing, photography, painting and so on and so on. I guess I am one of those people who would try out everything there is if time would be an unlimited resource.

What else ...

I am interested in the different shapes and sizes people come in, how life unfolds in different climates and environments, what cultural differences, religious beliefs etc. that whole stretch of humanities history has created thus far and such things.

In my freetime I like to be in nature with or without my photo camera. Sometimes I paint or draw to the best of my ability ;-).

As for sports I love to play pool billard, snooker, table tennis, soccer and squash.

I guess most of all I love learning. The pile of books I want to read is infinite.
