Description

Hello! My name is Dolores and I'm very excited to be part of the Workaway community! I have finished my culinary major in Argentina, so now I'm focusing on traveling through the world, in order to challenge myself by meeting new people and collecting new intercultural experiences. I'm a huge nature lover! I look for every opportunity to be outside under the sun, trekking, cooking, and even growing my own vegetables (some years ago I got into the world of permaculture and fell in love with it). I really enjoy sharing a community life! I have been a member of the Scout Movement for more than seven years, where I have experience doing charity work (tea parties, bingo parties, cooking and serving meals at community kitchens), and taking care of children from 5 to 10 years old. I have also taken care of my 7 years old cousin since she was 5 (I live alone, so sometimes my uncles bring her home and I cook, help her with her homework and we play together). I have also participated in a bio-construction project, where I helped build a family house made completely out of recycled materials, mud, and clay.
I'm passionate about cooking for others, music (I play the guitar, the candombe drums and I also sing!), and doing sports. Last but not least, I have a strong concern for the environment, so I work every day to make my habits more ecological. Making these changes in my life makes me very, very happy. I'm a baker and a cook! I have worked at several restaurants: a fine dining restaurant, a bakery, a sushi bar, and a bistró! I have also catered for events like birthdays and club reunions, and cooked themed meals at Renaissance fairs! All these experiences have taught me to multitask, to work in teams, and to lead a group of people if the situation requires it. I have recently started fermenting ingredients to make artisan products like miso paste, garum, sourdough bread, raw vinegar, and Lacto-fermented preserves. I love designing author desserts using foraged and locally produced ingredients, and my goal is to learn more and more about growing my own food. I play the guitar, and the candombe drums, and I sing. I'm in love with music and can't decide which gender I like the most. Candombe, bossa nova, and Argentinian folkloric music are in my top three, but I'm also a big Madonna fan!
I speak fluent English: I got my First Certificate in English, a Cambridge English B2 level Qualification.
I have taken a Permaculture Designer course, and now my goal is to learn more and more, to lead my life toward concepts like bio-construction and Natural Agriculture from now on.
Plants have always been one of my passions: I own books about plant identification and I enjoy taking a walk and foraging for food.
I have some experience taking care of children, but I would love to learn more! I feel I have never lost connection with my inner child, so I always have a magical time when I am around kids.
I consider myself a happy and open-minded person. I am always thankful for the opportunities that life presents to me! I like to work hard (I believe working is one of the best environments for people to bond), I am very used to multitasking and I am a fast learner.
I'm very passionate about everything I do, so I am always working on improving my skills and learning from others!

I love playing board games, especially role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder! I am also interested in computer games (my childhood hobby) and anime. I am a Lord of the Rings fan!
