Description
Hi, I'm Daniel, originally from Germany but currently traveling through South East Asia for some months. I already traveled a lot in the last years and did many volunteerings on different platforms. I also traveled a lot with couchsurfing, camping, traveling from hostel to hostel and became friends with so many people around the world. I enjoy nature, beaches, hiking, swimming, and surfing - making South East Asia the perfect place for me! I want to explore it more deeply by volunteering, so I'm looking for my next volunteering experience with Workaway now.
I’m a very curious person who enjoys learning new things, which is a big reason why I joined Workaway. I like being social, working in a team or welcoming guests and also work on my own, like hands-on physical work that keeps me active. I would like to contribute to projects that connect people from all around the world and I want to experience different ways of living. I'm interested in volunteering at hospitality spaces, communities or projects that are focused on off-grid living, sustainable lifestyles, or environmental and nature conservation initiatives.
I'm exploring alternative ways of living and my dream is to create my own community someday, through running my own hostel or campsite, owning a piece of nature to build an off-grid farm or other kind of community. For now, I want to try out these different kinds of living, gain experience, help out wherever I can and make a positive impact where I go.

- Social and Community Living:
Through my travels I met over 100 people from many different countries with couchsurfing or in hostels or when I lived in communities. I also hosted people myself. I know how to behave respectfully, to deal with cultural differences, how to treat guests well and how to live in a community.
- Teaching
I have several years of experience in teaching Mathematics and Physics since I was in School, while studying and online while traveling. I also started to teach German and English
- Solar, Engineering and Mechanics:
I worked in a solar company when I studied mechanical engineering and know about how to build systems to get energy supply by solar. I am also interested in projects related to renewable energy for example biogas production using compost to use it for heating or cooking.
- Building, Constructing and Repairing:
With a background in industrial mechanics and hands-on experience from working with my father, I have some practical skills in building, repairing, and using power tools for construction projects.
- Sustainability, Eco Projects and Gardening:
I am passionate about sustainability and environmentalism, having been involved in environmental activism in Germany. I also have experience with building gardens and natural ponds to support local wildlife.
- Pet Care:
Growing up with dogs, cats and horses, I have experience caring for animals. I can help with pet-sitting, housesitting, and general animal care. -
