Description

We met in Bristol (UK) a creative and community-minded city where many of our dreams and stories about travelling to places near and far have taken place. Together, we have travelled through East and Southern Africa overland, couch surfed and camped in Europe and hiked through woodlands and over many mountains. For us, travel is a privilege not to be taken for granted. To share experiences with others, exchange skills and connect over food and interests is something we greatly value.

Dan is intently curious about the world around him, he offers a calm and smiley presence and is passionate about his art work. He finds the beauty in the smallest of things.

Charlotte is proactive by nature and has a kind and thoughtful outlook that brings out the best in others. She is most at ease doing yoga, putting her hands in the soil and wandering in the woodland.

Dan:
Is a practising artist with a degree in Fine Art. He has expertise in painting murals on a large scale
Previously worked for an arts centre and has organised events and exhibitions
Has worked putting up temporary structures (stretch tents) for a range of events
Experience in landscape gardening, building fences, retaining walls and garden maintenance
Currently has a job caring for adults with learning difficulties
Developing his knowledge of nature identification and foraging

Charlotte:
Experienced secondary school teacher (BA Geography/PGCE Secondary Education qualifications)
Keen vegetable grower and has been cultivating allotment beds for several years
Holds certificate in Permaculture Design and looking to learn /exchange ideas on different sustainable practices.
Currently training for the Level 3 Forest School qualification - a strong believer that being outside, especially in woodlands, is a great healer for most challenges we face.
Enjoys cooking and learning new recipes from different cultures.

We both love reading. Dan is currently reading 'Always Coming Home' by Ursula Le Guin, Charlotte is currently reading 'The Fraud' by Zadie Smith.

Charlotte enjoys practising yoga regularly and swimming. She has a particular fascination with butterflies.
Dan is fascinated by human culture and how we relate to the natural world. Just everything basically!
