My next destination:
Spain View allDescription
Hey there :)
My name is Dakota Rhae. I'm a fun-loving, creative 27-year-old from the Bronx, New York!
A little bit about me: I am of Dutch and Jamaican heritage and love hailing from both countries. I speak fluent Dutch (along with English, American Sign Language, and beginner Spanish) and I just received European citizenship in 2023! I love to travel, sing, dance, paint, crochet, read, write, and go on any type of adventure.
I have been on a healing journey to find the most ease and happiness since I quit being a professional model in 2020. I found that after nearly a decade of working in a toxic industry, I had developed a lot of unresolved trauma, on top of unsustainable consumer behaviors.
I healed a lot through therapy, yoga, and dance, but I fear there is still something missing; A sense of purpose perhaps.
Although I received my 500-hour Yoga Teacher Certification, and am currently working as a babysitter in New York City, I feel as though there is so much more I want to learn and experience.
I want to learn more about herbology, homeopathic remedies, and regenerative agriculture. I truly believe that humanity must listen and learn from Indigenous people on how to sustainably coexist with the Earth if we are to remedy the climate crisis.
My goal for joining WorkAway is to travel and learn from new people who are more knowledgeable than I am, to make genuine friendships, and to gain lifelong experiences working towards making the world a better place.
With the current political climate in the USA, I'd like to get to traveling as soon as possible! My home country has started to feel less and less safe for a queer black girl like me. I hope to find spaces that are accepting, loving, and safe worldwide!
I look forward to meeting everyone and learning about your beautiful cultures!
With Love,

I am experienced in child care as I have worked as a preschool teacher for 2 years and as a babysitter for 10+ years. I also have my 500-hour Yoga Teacher Certification and can lead a yoga class if you are interested in having one.
I don't have much experience in tending the Earth apart from helping my partner in the backyard garden when we had one, and the summers I spent helping my family friend on his dairy farm in the South of the Netherlands. I can lift 50 lbs and am not afraid to get my hands dirty! I think that working with the land might be the most honest and rewarding work there is. I learn the best in hands-on situations where I am shown and taught something and expected to put said knowledge to use at the moment. I am a quick study and have a lot of heart.Age

When I tell you I had the BEST work exchange experience here, I'm not joking in the slightest!
Granted, it was my first volunteer experience ever, but I couldn't have asked for a better one.
From the second I arrived, the hostel had an amazing vibe, and everyone I met was so kind.
I'm grateful to have gotten so close to everyone working… read more
