Description
When it comes to this workaway, I'm motivated solely by curiosity. Mind you, it's a near obsessive, burning to curiosity to experience everything and everywhere, but curiosity nonetheless. I work full time and have recently found myself in a position to take the occasional leave of absence from work. I started saving early in order to reach the point as soon as possible where I could support myself on interest and travel regularly.
I read near obsessively as a substitute for travel currently, a fair amount of classical fiction as well as modern fiction and biographies.
I have always worked a physical job and consider most heavy work enjoyable, and I'm happy to learn anything. I'll often commit myself to intense research projects to learn about something, though I actively seek to broaden my knowledge more than deepen it, simply because there's so much out there to learn.
In summary, I want to see everything I can, and learn as much as possible.

I have done some beginner courses in Italian and Swahili, and I can mostly grasp spoken Spanish, though perhaps not well. I hope to develop those skills and would be happy to at least make an attempt to speak any language with someone.

I'm familiar with most DIY work, and I can handle most household projects with a quick Google search. I have no problem with minor electrical or plumbing work, and when it comes to building decks and some outbuildings, I can take instruction with the best of them.
Given a bit of time to plan, I can work out most any woodworking projects from the ground up without difficulty. I've set posts in Arizona heat and built a pool deck in Kansas wind, so I feel up to most challenges.
I work steady, and I have rarely found myself in a position where physical work was a particular challenge. Intellectually I learn quick and I'm and enthusiastic study.
