Description
After years of living in a city, working in front of a computer, in rather soul-sucking jobs, we’re finally taking a risk to start living according to our values and dreams.
We are passionate about permaculture and simple life. We took our first Permaculture Design Course a few years back in Spain and have been looking to get our hands dirty and apply some of those principles ever since. We've had the good fortune of being able to help friends in Ireland and Poland who are trying to live these principles and we look forward to helping others bring similar dreams to life. Over the last few years, we’ve gained some limited experience in gathering wild plants, planting & maintaining trees, establishing an annual garden, building a temporary fence on 11ha land, building a roof over their summer kitchen & outdoor toilets, basic woodworking projects, maintaining humanure compost piles, and cooking for a community; but we are novices and by no means experts - we have still so much to learn!
We recently became involved in Community Building, which is a framework developed by M Scott Peck intended to provide participants with a space of unusual safety and extraordinary respect in which they can accelerate the process of experiencing true community. We’re both on a path to become facilitators of this process and would be very happy to chat about it or maybe try it together? 😊
Danny: Since I was a small child I've enjoyed helping others. Being in service brings a deeper, more enriching sense of satisfaction that is very much needed in these times. Through helping others we begin to help ourselves - by learning new skills, developing new competencies, and making fresh connections with different and interesting people who have things to teach us. As an American living abroad, I get fulfillment from discovering new cultures, unique places, novel tools and techniques, and in general different ways of living. I'm curious to learn and willing to put in the work to not just increase my own self-sufficiency, but to use those skills to help those around me and to create more caring communities. I'd be happy to talk about these, or a variety of other topics (such as music, art, literature, philosophy, nature and spirituality to name a few) at length.
Asia (Joanna): I find joy and pleasure in simple tasks, and the beauty of life in nature and community. I love conceptualizing and doing things with my hands, especially outdoors, when I can feel connected to the world. Both meditative repetitive jobs done alone, and playful group work bring me satisfaction, especially when I see the greater sense behind a project. I trust we can create more beautiful, loving and caring game worlds on this Earth and I'm deeply touched by the work of many who are already doing it, probably you reading it included - thank you for this! 😊
I have some experience in woodworking, gardening or cooking for groups, but mostly a lot to learn, so I stay humble, open to feedback and teaching. I can promise I'll put all my heart and skills into every task I'll be given. I can also be independent and pro-active if that's welcomed.
Also, I really enjoy singing & dancing, collecting wild plants, meditating in the forest, sharing daily life with others through work, conversation and celebration.Interests

We spent one month in July/August at their place. It's a hard task to summarise it briefly here and not sound overexcited!
First of all, we had a chance to see a real, longterm mature permaculture project in action. Very well organized and really… read more
