  • Description

In October 2016 after making the decision that there was more to life than saving for retirement. I set off to create and experience an extraordinary life!
Whilst overseas I found love and we decided to come home (he is an Aussie) and discover the magic of our own country. So in July we purchased a caravan (Betty) and have set of to discover not only how amazing our country is but also the hardy, characters that inhabit this truly astonishing country.

Before I started my overseas adventure I had a long career in hospitality starting in the industry as an apprentice chef and working my way up to managing hotels around Australia.
My partner, Paul has been self employed as a Project Manager in the contruction sector. In charge of boutique office fit outs....so he is pretty handy.

We are both happy-go-lucky people with tons of energy. Both of us enjoy interesting conversation and are always up for a good debate , exploreing other people's perspectives interests both of us.

I also teach English online to experience other cultures.

I enjoy working as a team as well as on individual tasks, my aim in any Workaway is to make the host's life better. Whilst working as a workawayer I have tackled a variety of projects, such as building a terraced vegetable garden as well as just helping out with household daily routine. I am extremely flexible with whatever needs doing.

Paul is new to Workaway but is eager to embrace the lifestyle. He very much a believer in helping others you always get more than you give.

We are both non smokers and although we have a few extra years on the clock than most workawayers we believe we balance that with commintment and consistency and a great work ethic.

  • More details about your skills

Having lived a few more years than most Workawayer's, we bring a plethora of skill., plus a can do attitude and a mindset of it's never to late to learn new skills.

I, have a long career in hospitality , as both an employee and owning several apartment hotels. So well understand in property maintenance. Workaway experiences has allowed me to indulge in my love of gardening and have taken a few short courses in permaculture. I have really enjoyed my Workaday experiences as they have allowed me to expand my skills to include painting, and I have become very good with a sander. I am a qualified chef, and pride myself on my ability to whip up a delicious meal in minutes.
Paul has been self employed for the last 20 years as a project manager in the conduction industry, so as well has being very handy he has great problem solving skills and can build fixes for most things. He is good around people and has lots of patience. He cant cook, but he is great at dishes and is fastidiously clean. He is very logical and has a way of working out the best way to get a job done and done properly.
We both have many skills and knowledge thatwe have accumulated over years of working But I think for both of us our greatest skill is my ability to adapt and common sense .We both believe we bring a little bit of wisdom to the party otherwise the grey hairs are for nothing :0.

  • What else ...

We are not people that are constantly connected to our phones , there is no place for them in the paddock or garden. We tackle Workaway assignments as a way to connect with people as more than tourists, for us Workaway is lifestyle choice, not a cheap holiday. We are very flexible with dates and locations, looking to the universe to give us direction.
