Description
Hey ! My name is Claire and I'm from Normandy. I currently live in Caen (France) but I have recently quit my job and I am looking for new encounters and discoveries in France & Europe.
Before I started my studies, I left for a year as au pair in Ireland. This wonderful experience had a lasting impact on my life, as it made me want to continue to discover new places, cultures and lifestyles. As part of my studies in foreign languages and tourism, I continued to engage in experiences abroad such as Erasmus studies in Germany and Sweden, an internship in Russia and another one in Northern Ireland.
I am now back in my home region and have worked as a cultural mediator in a historical park about vikings. After 3 very interesting (& intense) years, I decided to quit my job and take a break before looking for a new one. As I currently have a lot more time than I used to, I would very much like to use it to help others in their projects. I recently joined a local association engaged in various actions for the ecological transition of my neighborhood and am currently involved in a community garden as well as the low-tech action group.
Even though I really enjoy getting involved in my community, I also see my recent unemployment as an opportunity to reconnect to my international quest and interact with people from all over the world. Having used workaway in my travels back in 2019, I thought it would be the right time to give it another go to help out families, couples or individuals in their projects while meeting interesting people, discovering beautiful places and being part of new communities.
I am a very curious person and I'm always eager to help so I would be delighted to give you a hand with whatever you have got going on, whether it is gardening, renovating, cooking / baking, taking care of children,... My friends would describe me as a joyful and energetic person, always willing to hear and share stories.
In my free time, I try to practice yoga most days and I really enjoy climbing. If you are living near a climbing spot, I would be delighted to check it out. We could even go climbing together if you feel like it :)
Last (funny) thing you should know about me: I am an unconditional lover of sheep and can't help make a high-pitched noise whenever I see one! And no, living in Ireland for 2,5 years was not enough to cure me from this crazy love...Interests
