Activities we are interested in:
We are about to travel up the East Coast, looking for workaways & paid work anywhere between approx Byron and Cairns. Ideas welcome!
Our next destination:
Australia - from Oct 2024 until Sep 2025 View allDescription
Hello,
We are Chloe and Dan, from the UK, travelling around Australia from now until late September 2025.
Back in the UK I’m an ecologist and environmental educator, with a love for horse riding, climbing, snowboarding, and animals. I have trained ponies from being unhandled to ridden, and can ride from 12hh upwards. I’ve worked abroad in a variety of countries leading students on mammal survey expeditions, and previously ran the internship programme at a wild animal rescue centre in Indonesia, which included animal care, help in the vet clinic and animal enrichment, alongside all my people management duties. I am also a qualified yoga teacher, but have yet to teach - and would love to start!
Dan is a panel beater and is very handy! He has recently converted a trailer into a mobile soft-release enclosure suitable for brushtail possums. Dan also loves the outdoors, animals and keeping fit, and we train in partner acrobatics together.
We have a 4x4 that we are travelling in/living in when not at a workaway, and neither of us smoke. We don't have any particular dietary requirements.
We have been to some wonderful workaways in the south west, and spent a month volunteering at Mosswood Wildlife in Victoria. We have been to some lovely workaways in Tasmania, and just finished with a horsey family in East Gippsland. We are now working our way up the mainland east coast, with a view to being in the NT/north WA in August, back in Perth mid September.
We are on the lookout for short term employment 6-8 weeks somewhere on the east coast (anywhere between Byron and Cairns), so if you are looking for a house sitter, or we could come to an arrangement where we can work alongside our workaway duties please do reach out.Interests

Very thankful for their help and company for a couple of days.
Enjoy the rest of the trip guys!
We did approx 3 hours work a day, helping Sam to weed his vegetable patch. A great place to visit to learn about a more efficient, sutainable way to live. Doggo cuddles a massive bonus ☺️.
