Description

Hi, my name is Charlotte. I am 26-years old, from the USA. I am half-French with an EU passport (culturally more American than French).

A curiosity for what I have not yet experienced, along with a desire to grow and expand in a more multicultural context, have guided me down this path of volunteering in pursuit of contribution, collaboration, and connection with others.

At my core, I am a free-spirited soul that tends to prefer and appreciate the road less traveled to the one taken by the majority. I do not believe that we require an abundance of material things in order to feel content, and that the little things in life like meaningful connection and quality time tend to make up for it :)

I consider myself an introverted extrovert (more on the intuitive and sensitive feeling side). Benefitting from quality community time with others in the same way that I also require my own personal time alone to recharge. I am intrigued by topics pertaining to philosophy, sociology, psychology and occulted knowledge, and am deeply enriched by new cultural experiences, particularly those connected to the earth with food, plants, and home materials.

The calm and solitude that nature provides are of greatest benefit to me when channeling my energy into artistic & healing pursuits (music, dance, yoga, etc.). I also deeply value engagements such as those that occur organically with animals (I love cats) &/or children. Most of my experience relates to these areas. I also understand that the reality of family living does not always involve calm and solitude, and therefore am very realistic about and adaptable to the busyness of what daily life can often look like with children involved.

I do my very best to remain balanced, flexible, and as helpful as possible in any and all project-related pursuits ... from child & animal care to cleaning, organizing, painting, gardening, building, independent responsibilities, collaborative pursuits, paid work, etc.

With the right mentorship & guidance, I am capable of and open to completing a wide variety of tasks whether individually-based or in collaboration with others.

More details about your skills

(1) Most of my experience relates to positions where I have held the responsibility of nurturing & caring for children and household pets. In the past, I have worked as a dog walker, pet & home sitter, babysitter, nanny, and assistant teacher for pre-school aged children at a Steiner/Waldorf school.

(2) I also have some past experience in the food & dining industry as a host, barista, and temporary sous-chef.

(3) I have worked some self-employed positions as a personal organizer and assistant to those in need of organizational and cleaning help. I have also worked as a professional independent house cleaner. This natural skillset of mine is a daily passion, full-time hobby, and gift that I bring with me everywhere I go.

(4) I have some limited knowledge and hands-on experience with gardening, weeding, and harvesting (really hoping to expand on this!) and chicken care in extension of a WorkAway experience I had off-grid in Italy.

I am very open to additional work opportunities involving manual labor as they will offer me the opportunity to apply myself to something practical & useful, while expanding on my desire to learn to live more self-sufficiently and sustainably.

What else ...

(1) I am a dual French-American citizen (with a French passport), making it possible for me to work in the EU longer-term, without the need for a visa.

(2) I do my best to implement a healthy lifestyle, and that tends to apply to food (with some exceptions). I tend to stay away from anything that's too highly processed (i.e. unnatural additives, pesticides, etc).

(3) Chances are you will probably find something in better condition than when you left it. I am very organized and tidy (both in general, as well as when needed).
