UPDATE July 2023: maybe volunteering again, in France this time :)
***
Hello!
My name is Célia, I come from South of France and I work as an archaeologist in my country, so my first volunteer experiences consisted of archaeological field works every summer, when I was a student.
In 2020/2021 I went to Ireland for a first Workaway experience; it started as a 1 or 2 month trip but it eventually lasted almost one year! I met great Workaway/HelpX hosts and helpers across the country, experienced alternative lifestyles, met people from very different backgrounds … and made some good friends! There I helped doing mainly these tasks: taking care of goats and horses, gardening, cleaning (in my hosts' home but also in hostels), cooking, painting, helping with DIY tasks.
I am a calm and quiet person, I pretty much love working with my hands and spending time outdoors. I like to walk, give a hand in the garden… I like to cook and try new recipes :) I’m not afraid of "rustic" accomodations, that suits me all right. It is very important for me to be respectful with the people who welcome me and I do care about keeping my living place tidy!
Thanks for reading, looking forward to meeting you!Interests

I am happy to help with gardening, housework, cooking... I am used to cleaning tasks in the house or in the garden. I can do a bit of sewing too.
I used to work at the welcome desk of a university library, so I know what is expected at a reception desk.
I have some skills in archaelogy too! I have a MA in Prehistory (I studied bone tools used by Neanderthals) and I work as a rescue archaeologist in France.Age

What else ...
I find a lot of satisfaction and peace in manual labour :)
I like to read; I’m very good at starting reading plenty of books, less good at finishing them! (Rather classic books: novels, philosophy…)
I’d love to learn a bit about wood working. Some more information
