I just got back from Bolivia, where I did an incredible workaway in the Amazon Rainforest. Excited for my next adventure- off to learn how to sail!
Description
Hello world! I'm Catherine. I’m lucky to have had some incredible travel and Workaway experiences that have taken me from the Amazon to the Arctic. Every community project I've taken part in has taught me more about our world & has introduced me to different types of changemakers. I'm excited to continue exploring & learning in 2024.
By nature, I’m a creative problem solver who is constantly seeking new challenges. Empathetic and warm, I love to connect with and help people. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, I graduated from Tulane University (in New Orleans) in 2021 with a degree in International Development and Social Innovation. International Development studies how the global community can sustainably reduce poverty while also strengthening human rights.
I'm excited to continue to use my studies as I travel by learning more about the many ways in which we can have a positive impact on the world. My goal for 2025 is to learn more about communities working to make change on a systemic level.Interests

More details about your skills
I'm an independent self-starter who gets excited by connecting with and helping people (and animals). Throughout my time at Tulane University, I gained cultural competence in a Peace Corps Prep Program, supported myself through consulting contracts, and led a research project on post-conflict violence against women. I speak Spanish and have a general knack for picking up skills quickly. Some people would say that I can also be funny at times :~)
Other experience includes: designing/leading disaster relief trips, project management and logistics, creative writing and English grammar expertise, startup development, tutoring under a sports-based youth development model, campaign fundraising, leadership workshop training, and general non-profit experience.Age

What else ...
I love being in the outdoors, am great with kids and animals, and love any kind of card game. I believe there is always fun to be made out of any situation and life is best spent making the best out of wherever you are, with whatever it may be that you have.
