  • Description

Greetings! My strongest skills? Adaptation, traveling, languages, hosteling and tireless working.
As you may have noticed, I am fluent in english.
Ich habe viele Jahre in Deutschland gelebt.
E naturalmente parlo italiano, essendo di Napoli.

I have an endless amount of patience which makes me a perfect candidate for elderly care or childcare. I am very flexible and don't require any luxuries (except wifi to stay in touch with my loved ones). I love yard-work of any kind, don't let my appearance fool you, I am much stronger than I look.
With this I would like the opportunity to introduce myself and try to share as much as possible about myself.

I have always been a nomad at heart, growing up as an immigrant family in Germany, we traveled back to Italy every chance we would get.
We moved to different areas of Germany due to my father’s job opportunities as factory worker and I continued the pattern of traveling myself, as soon as I became more independent. I have always truly enjoyed getting to know new people and have always enjoyed learning about different cultures and their customs. Becoming a flight attendant in my 50s took my wanderlust to a new level.
Certainly I've always felt a pull of solidarity with immigrants merely because we had so much in common and could relate to each other.
I have also recently learned that hiking is a way for me to find more solace and fills my heart in a way that nothing else does.

My job experiences? : Hairstylist, customer service, salon manager, interpreter, language tutor, caregiver (children/elderly) , personal assistant, flight attendant, farm helper, hotel and hostel helper, kitchen help, spiritual retreat assistant.

I am looking forward to add more skills to my list.

More details about my language interests
I have been a language tutor in the past for friends who were interested in conversational language learning (versus exposing themselves to studying grammar right away). Therefore I would love to teach it.I find it to be the easiest and most fun way to learn, by having full exposure to everything fun in hat specific language. Of course I will always be open to learn new languages as well.

    Gardener/Landscape Artist:
My downtime has always been crucial to unwind in order to focus on my balance and mental health. I always enjoyed my free time by being outside doing yard work, landscaping, creating things, planting things watching plants and trees come to life.
My backyard used to be an entire work in progress over several years after moving into the new home. The land had been abandoned for a number of years, it was used as a dumpsite and it was overgrown on a level that cannot be described.
Just recently have learned new skills of manually harvesting olives by applying what is known as “bacchettatura” and usage of nets as well. I learned he importance of laying the nets properly and the storage thereof.

    Caregiver for Elderly:
As the full-time caregiver for my mother, I was able to help other elderly patients who needed assistance during recovery in the facilities. I was able to add essential skills which go beyond the general understanding of empathy and altruism.
Many of the elderly I have cared for were stroke-victims who were bedridden and were not able to feed themselves amongst other things. It was definitely a learning experience to witness their resilience and determination to heal which inspired even more patience and commitment during. I was later immersed around my mothers care only, outside the facilities upon her discharge.

    Teachers Assistant/ Interpreter:
A great impact for my intercultural growth was the opportunity to work for the International School of Lago Patria in Italy. Within that position different tasks required my multilingual skills as an essential tool to communicate with new parents as well as new students who faced difficulties with the language barriers.
As a member of a reputable private school which hosted many children of high ranking military families from surrounding NATO bases, it was essential for me to interact with parents in a professional manner while reassuring the sense of respect or the diversity and uniqueness of every culture.
I also had the privilege to becoming a room-mother at the elementary school that my daughters attended as children. I assisted with the younger groups of 4 to 5 years of age in prekindergarten and shared the daily workload of the classroom teacher, following her lesson plan.

    Flight Attendant:
I furthered my education in 2013 by advancing with a new career as a flight attendant and entering a complete new world….literally! Again an accomplishment I take pride in, considering that I was one of just a few in my age group of 50 years and older who made it through the entire course while watching much younger ones failing .
With this new career, not only have I learned to embrace a completely new lifestyle but also learned a new approach to customer service. I found myself readjusting time-management, and safety protocol on a different level than ever before. This job required much more than just excellent customer service skills.
I worked independently, serving the cabin of an ERJ145 aircraft that seats only 50 passengers and where only one flight attendant is required. It was fulfilling to be able and assist even the most fearful passenger with individual attention.

    Hair Designer:
I have completed my apprenticeship of 3 years in Germany. A fact that I am very proud of since it gave me a very unique foundation for years to come.
I have the very distinctive ability to incorporate a very disciplined methodology into my skills while adding a very large spectrum of art as well, making my compositions very artistically focused.
Completing haircuts, hairstyling and finish become second nature when complemeningt the clients’ physique, personality and lifestyle,
Through partly visualization of hairstyles via a computer imaging system, through client consultation and through certifications by international training with L’Oreal, Wella, Matrix and Redken, I became a color expert in balayage; ombre, caramelizing; general coloring techniques and foiling.
Skillful in texture treatments such as body waves and permanent waving, straighteners / relaxers. with emphasis on taming natural curly hair. Knowledgeable with natural approach as well as chemicals (which I prefer less).

    Management :
I was offered a new role as as an Assistant Salon Manager in a high volume salon, after working several years as a flight attendant.
There I have learned ways to effectively coach in the moment. Responsible for assisting the Salon Manager/Market Trainer with meeting or exceeding salon productivity, especially during her absence,I’ve embraced the responsibility in creating an environment that maintains open interaction to preserve a trusting atmosphere.
As a professional example of consistency and while ensuring that the salon team conducts each segment of a client visit courteously and efficiently, we were able to operate as a productive team in accordance with the established client retention procedures.

  • What else ...

    ME! a Global Citizen :
My birth place is Naples Italy but throughout my life I had the privilege and the fortune to live and work in different countries (Germany, Italy, USA) while learning the languages fluently.
During the course of my career as an international Hair-designer , I had the opportunity to interact closely with clients of all walks of life, different ages, gender and ethnicity.
The exposure helped me develop a strong sense for different personalities and helped me to learn how crucial it is to adapt to the diversities that one encounters.
I had the privilege of being able to travel at no expense during my flight attendant years and my hosteling helped to keep my travels low budget.

I adjust very easily to new situations and learned to just go with it whenever things developed not as planned (I was stranded plenty of times while traveling standby) therefore I will enjoy giving you a tip or two on many situations that you may encounter, just let me know.
