My dream is to one day have a self-sustainable, small homestead. If I can successfully learn to do this, I would love even more to share that knowledge and those skills with others.
I'm 38, single, no pets, no kids. A traveler. A nomad. I currently live in East Texas and work as a seasonal beekeeper for my brother's commercial operation. My background is peppered with different jobs in different places. I have lived in Brazil, Chile, Spain, Mexico and love any opportunity to practice Spanish and learn about other cultures. I built a van out last summer and traveled down the peninsula of Baja, MX. I taught English for 3 years in Spain and love a language exchange. I love anything related to nature - camping, backpacking, hiking, photography, herbalism, art, writing, reading, carving spoons by hand.
I work hard and learn fast. I love to work with my hands and get dirty. Any chance I have to work outside, I'm happy. I have experience with carpentry, habitat restoration (clearing trails, brush, invasive removal), gardening, beekeeping, chickens. I can use a chainsaw, power tools, mowers, weed whips, pallet jacks, and can operate a fork lift. I'm good with animals and can cook though I keep it simple these days.
I'm quiet-natured and require a good amount of solitude. But I also have an extroverted side that likes to socialize, to share, to play. I'm better in small groups and one-on-one. I like deep conversations and topics. Love to laugh. I can easily work on my own and like independent work, though I'm very much a team-player and have a lot of experience working on crews of people. I work well having a goal to accomplish. I have traveled and lived abroad more than once and so I'm very tolerant of different cultures and ideas. Kindness, respect, peace, and an open-mind are at my core.Interests

I love to work with my hands. I'll be more than happy to help build something, garden, clear brush, use a drill/handsaw/chainsaw, pull weeds, light beekeeping.
I have a very diverse work background and can pretty much fit in anywhere. Some examples of jobs I've had that might be relevant:
- conservation crew (chainsawing invasive trees, trail building, clearing brush)
- beekeeping (my brother's family runs a bee farm in Texas)
- English language teacher (my most current) - conversation / translation help
- writing (happy to help with English translations) / photography
- florist
- painting (houses and/or small-scale designs)
- some gardening / harvesting (hopefully much more)
- some cooking (this is not my preferred task but I don't mind helping out)
I'm hard-working and easily trainable if you explain your vision in clear terms. Once I feel comfortable understanding your methods, I am happy to work independently.Age

What else ...
I am a curious introvert who likes meaningful conversation but also needs and appreciates her personal space from time to time. I like to laugh, stay positive and playful. Kindness above all. Direct communication is important and I value respect and kindness above all. I love learning about other cultures and how differently people can live their lives.

I learned a lot from her about Texas and Spain.
She is totally a new friend. We had a true connection, had many laughs and I really hope she´ll come back!
