Description
Hiyi! I have been travelling for the last half year after quitting my job in oceanography and I'm currently in New Zealand for a few months staying with friends, before going to Canada in the new year to join my partner and find work there.
In the meantime I have been enjoying exploring and learning lots about the nature here, particularly the birds and plants, and have been getting out into the bush for hiking whenever I can. I'm keen to find and help out with interesting projects associated with rewilding and conservation, to keep learning about the issues affecting these, and something involving hands on work and picking up some practical skills would definitely be cool. My aim is to transition into a career in marine conservation, but my interests are broad and so I'm keen to learn about a variety of different projects . I am also an avid sailor, and have a lot of volunteer experience on various boats, and in my spare time I enjoy reading, films and board games! Looking forward to seeing what's out there to get stuck into!Interests

More details about your skills
I have a background in geology and oceanography, and a love of the outdoors, which gives me a variety of skills ranging from mapping and data analysis, to fieldwork planning, mountaineering and offshore work. I also have a good eye for detail and identification, whether that be rocks, birds, or marine species! I have also volunteered with a few conservation and rewilding activities in the UK and in New Zealand and have gained some practical experience of different activities associated with these.
