  • Description

Hey, I'm Callum, from the south of England. I've been travelling for just over a year now and am looking for opportunities for new experiences that I feel I can really help out with and learn from. I would love to get stuck into whatever projects you have for me and any responsibillities you can you give me!

In the UK, I work as the head chef in the kitchen I work for.
as a chef, I have a pro-active and organised mindset. Being on top of stock rotation and keeping everything clean and tidy is essential.
There's a lot of high stress situation in the kitchen and being able to adapt is a key skill I've had to develop over the past couple of years.
Being the head chef means budgeting, managing our stock levels and being creative with new specials for the menu as well as making them suitable for all types of lifestyles such as vegan and gluten-free. I make the best gluten-free, vegan gravy you'd have to try!

When I moved into the head chef position, I spent a lot of time seeking out areas in which we could improve and put a lot of time into implementing the changes I deemed suitable.
so a role involving cooking and budgeting would fit me perfectly.
If you have any signature dishes, I'd love to hear them! My aim is to explore the world and learn new recipes or techniques that I can bring with me wherever I go.

My favourite part of cooking is making use of everything we cook. Turning scraps and off-cuts into stock is possibly my favourite thing to do! Finding creative ways to reduce waste and making better food in the process is the goal.

My favourite type of work will have to be the more labour intensive work such as logging, wood cutting etc.. I don't mind getting my hands dirty! I find this type of work very fulfilling and have always enjoyed physically demanding activities such as excercise and sport. However, I am very proactive and forward-thinking and can take on any project you have for me. I have some mechanical experience from a previous workaway and from life exerience and am very tech-savvy as I studied it in college.

In my free time, I'm a photographer. I do a lot of landscape photography and videography for personal enjoyment and for films that I make. However, in the past I have been taking a lot of food pictures for the social media of the kitchen I work for. I've been doing it for a few years now and still have a lot to learn but would love to take any pictures or videos for you if that's what you'd like.

Opportunities involving animals excite me most. I love working with and learning about animals. I have a couple of cats at home and have always loved dogs.
