  • Description

Hi, my name is Bruno. I’m an open-minded person, and I value a non-judgmental approach to others and to life. I am hardworking and seeing the fruits of my work is something that truly fulfills my soul. I’m interested in pedagogy, especially Waldorf education—I’ve read and studied Allgemeine Menschenkunde als Grundlage der Pädagogik by Rudolf Steiner. I also completed a week-long course on Philosophy for Children, offered by the website pinkbox.org.

Since I was 10 years old, I attended a summer camp focused on connecting with nature and aspects of the early-medieval period. It was partly off-grid, meaning there was almost no electricity, with a well as the only water source and forest wood as the main source of heat. From the age of 15, I began volunteering there as a children’s animator. I did this for five summers. I instructed archery, practiced the basics of non-contact kung fu, helped children learn simple embroidery and sewing, writing with a quill, woodcraft, leathercraft, cooking (including over fire), collecting and preparing firewood, making fire with flint and steel, and many other activities that life in the forest brings. Every year, I also assisted children in preparing a short theatre performance. There were also dogs, goats, and chickens, and we took care of them every day.

My native language is Slovak. I can write in English at a C1 level and speak at a B2 level. I speak Polish at A2 and German at A1. After living in the Czech Republic for a year, I also speak and write Czech quite well. I’ve always enjoyed helping classmates and younger students with their schoolwork, it was a great way to reinforce my own learning.

I have basic experience with beekeeping, as my father owns several bee colonies and I’ve helped him with various tasks and bee collection. We use only natural methods for treating the bees and maintaining their health.

I have a little experience with horse care, having spent two weeks on a farm where I learned the basics of grooming and cleaning horses. I was always fascinated by them and this was a great introduction, I am very eager to gain more experience.

I work part-time at a yard, mostly doing soft construction work like flattening the ground and carrying rocks. We also built a fence around the entire yard.

My mother raised me to do all household chores, hanging laundry is my favourite :)

I’ve had a driving license since 2021 and worked as a courier for two years, so I’m a confident driver.

I can cook simple meals and enjoy kitchen prep work, like peeling potatoes and preparing vegetables.

I’ve volunteered at a retirement home, where I played card games, chatted with the residents, and helped with grocery shopping.

I’ve also taught archery to children at public events in my town, such as Children's Day celebrations. (I’ve chosen not to post any photos from these events on my profile but they can be seen here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CeLbzeAqmGc/?img_index=4)
