We are at home in Switzerland, currently looking for inspiring projects and communities in Europe.

  • Description

Hello! We are Andrea & Simon, a couple in our end 30's, after gathering first experiences in Southern America we are looking for inspiring projects and communities around Western Europe, where we can contribute our force during vacations.

Andrea is currently working as a teacher for refugee children, Simon, a former jouralist, is transforming a old fabric into a kids playground and space for play and creativity.

We love what we do and bring a broad range of skills and experience. We like to cook with sustainable produce and are used to prepare (vegetarian) meals for large groups. We have experiences in various areas, such as gardening (we co-share a garden where we live), bee keeping, farm work, and simpel construction tasks. Simon used to mount solar systems for a couple of months and as a former journalist he is skilled in communications (social media, photography, text editing).

We value community and live in close connection with mother nature. We hope to have experiences that allow us to make a contribution, to learn and bring us inspiration that we can carry with us and pass on.

  • More details about your skills

Andrea: I’m an enthusiastic primary school teacher with a passion for nurturing young minds and cultivating positive change. I am working at a school for refugee children. Teaching for me means enabling and holding space, so children can discover their endless creativity, potential and build trust in themselves. Beyond my day to day job, I’m always eager to learn and get my hands dirty. I bring broad work experiences, whether it’s gardening, helping build a library in Burkina Faso, or working on an organic farm. Cooking is one of my passions, and I thrive on discovering new things.

    ****

Simon: I used to work as a investigative journalist, lately taking some time off to work in the solar industry. I currently spend most of my days on roofs, installing solar plants and I love it! In the past I’ve helped restore a sailing boat, planted trees in reforestation projects, and worked on Swiss mountain farms. Also, I have a lot of experience in communications (photography, video editing, website management, social media). And I am keeping a few bees in our garden.

    ****

Both of us are pursuing a sustainable way of living. We support local food systems (Simon co-founded a local food network), try to minimize our ecological footprint and believe that change is possible.

We consider ourselves fast learners and open-minded. During our youth, we extensively travelled across Asia, Africa, and Europe, where we learned to adapt to diverse customs and habits.
