Description
Hi I'm Diana, a mid- life traveller. In my twenties I travelled extensively and worked for charities in India, Germany and Australia. Three children and a good number of years later ( after a good few holidays but not much serious travelling) I'm able to do it again.
I'm travelling to Australia, where I grew up in the suburbs of Melbourne, for nearly 5 months end of 24-25 with the intention of using a pet-sitting site and Workaways to move around and meet people. I don't travel at the luxury end of the market so I'm happy to pay my way through helping out.
I'm physically fit ( I did a sponsored walk in the Sahara a few years ago) and prefer to be on my feet and outdoors. Desk work is a no- no for me!
I'm a keen and reasonably knowledgeable gardener and I'd had experience with dogs, cats and chickens. I'm a good vegetarian cook. I'm a hard worker, reliable, trustworthy and have a clean driving licence.

I've had extensive work experience in both the voluntary sector and in retail ( I'm a great sales person!) but have also been to horticultural college, brought up 3 children and have varied interests from yoga and sea swimming to reading, world cinema and gardening.
I'm a hard worker, fit and reliable. I've had a driving license for over 35 years .

I'm a Scrabble and Banagrams fan and play various other board games with my adult children. I'm in 2 book groups, one of which I started and I'm secretary of Bridport Film Society and love independent world cinema! I love pub quizzes, enjoy yoga, walking and swimming and am interested in interior design, art and architecture.

Diana is such a pleasure to host. She was such a help in the garden and very pleasant and easy to get along with. Always happy to chip in with anything that needed doing. I absolutely recommend her to any hosts and wish her well on her adventures around Australia (and the world)

I had a great week with Ash who is a really pleasant and generous host. I mainly gardened which I'm happy doing and experienced in and in return was provided with a delightful little self contained cottage and lovely meals by Ash who.was so accommodating of my vegetarian diet. I highly recommend the experience

I love having Diana here so much. She is independent and has so much intuitive, she can see what needs doing and just gets on with it, without being asked. This was only my second Workway and what a wonderful, life affirming experience it was. Helping to care for dozens of animals, some rescued from pretty dreadful circumstances felt a very positive thing to do and this is felt by all these creatures give back to those working with them.

I've just spent a,week at Anne's and Robert's farm in New Norfolk. Overall it was a very positive experience; they are extremely hospitable and appreciative and the other girls who were there( Belgian, German and Japanese) were delightful and really added to the whole experience.
