  • Description

    Dear hosts!

After having hosted many, many workawayers ourselves in the past years (and travelling as workawayers ourselves for quite a few times, as well as doing house sits), we are now about to travel more ourselves. We are longing to explore new places, connect with other amazing souls, to contribute, inspire and be inspired. Many of our previous workaway experiences have been deeply touching and life changing, and we have become dear friends with many of the humans we got to meet. And we hope that this will continue along our journeys.

We are a little family of two wonderful adventurers who are almost 7 and almost 8 years old and a mum. We are life learners/unschoolers, i.e. we believe that the most sustainable, important and essential learning is happening in real life, when we are observing and practising skills and knowledge in a natural context. And we would love to learn more about so many things in life, such as natural building, permaculture, acrobatics/gymnastics/dance/other forms of movement, water purification, sewing, (true) healing, plant medicine and the like.

The children especially love being and and playing with water, bicycling, acrobatics, climbing, growing food, picking and eating berries, collecting shells, rocks and other treasures outside, building lego, cooking and baking and some video games. And they are great companions, once they feel safe and respected. Rebecca (the mum) is passionate about gentle parenting, women's health, natural birth, mum's care, pregnancy and postpartum, movement (used to work as a professional Pilates teacher), togetherness and community, self-responsibility, bodily integrity, natural health and different forms of healing, music and singing, reading and so much more. We all love walking barefoot, eating fresh fruit and vegetables and being with respectful, loving and inspiring humans.

We love to live our life in a meaningful way. To contribute to create, heal, nourish and grow, to contribute to create thriving life.

Oh, and btw. We can absolutely fit onto two mattresses or beds next to each other, so something the like is perfectly fine for us!

We would love to support with gardening/permaculture (even though we still can learn a lot), with cooking and baking, baby, child and animal care (as long as both little humans and animals are treated with respect), women's health and postpartum care. We have lots of knowledge about and experience in a lifestyle that reduces toxins of all sorts, reduces stress and promotes health, healing and well-being. Everything from natural, unassisted birth over cloth diapers and EC (elimination communication), peaceful parenting, babywearing and a life without child care institutions to barefoot walking and plant-based cooking. I (Rebecca) know deep down in my tissues what it means to be a mum in today's world, often with no or very little support and a longing for a helping hand and some time for yourself, and I would more than gladly be there for other mums and families. I can also very much imagine to support families during pregnancy, birth and postpartum which all I have not only experienced myself but also studied in doula training and postpartum care training. We are supposed to have a village to support us - you are not meant to do everything alone!!

We can of course also help with tidying and cleaning, as long as we are not expected to use toxic products or doing nothing but that all day long.

We are all physically fit and greatly enjoy manual and physical work and are very happy to learn new skills.

Of course, for me (Rebecca) it is important that it works well for my kids as well, so I appreciate when we can keep things a bit flexible. They totally understand that for some things, exact timing is important. But when it is not, it would be great if we could move things slightly around, if needed.

  • What else ...

We would love to learn more about living in a very essential way, letting go of so much of the distracting and destructive items, materials, thoughts and beliefs etc. We would love to live a life that is very much aligned with life energy, the elements and all living beings around us. And we are passionate about freedom and creating thriving life.

We are super curious to meet new people and other cultures and your food, ways, mindset, lifestyle etc!
