Description
Hi! I'm Bethany, I'm 26 years old and I'm from Scotland, UK 🏴
For the last few years I have been travelling and working/volunteering full-time, primarily in the EU, Balkans, and North Africa. I have done all kinds of jobs - from farming in Iceland, Germany & Luxembourg, to painting murals for hostels in Morocco and Albania, house and dog-sitting in Slovenia and Bosnia, and working at kite/surf schools in Portugal, Tunisia and Turkey.
I have over 11 years' experience working seasonally in the hospitality and service industry, including house keeping, waitressing, receptionist, cheffing, barista and bar work. I have worked in hostels, hotels, chalets, restaurants and sports camps, as well as NGOs, all round the world.
I have a higher qualification in Art & Design as well as a BSc degree in Psychology & Counselling, and I am trained to work in mental healthcare.
After backpacking for a few months at the beginning of 2022, I then spent 2 years living in and travelling with my self-converted van.
In November 2024, I left my van in Scotland and moved to New Zealand for my working holiday visa 🇳🇿
I am very outdoorsy and enjoy nature sports such as trail running, hiking, mountain climbing, skiing, kite surfing and surfing - and I am always looking to learn more!
I speak English fluently and I have both, full car and motorbike licenses. I have my own vehicle here in NZ.

I have lots of experience in hospitality, particularly house keeping, food preparation, and customer service. I am experienced working in social environments and have been involved in many volunteer positions, so I'm comfortable with the volunteer dymamic.
I have been commissioned several times to paint large-scale murals for schools, hostels, and on one occasion my local council for a public underpass.
I have been trained in and previously worked in mental health/social care.
