Hi! My name is Becky Wandell and I love to meet interesting people, learn new things and laugh my way through any kind of adventure. For 18 years, I was a 4th and 5th grade teacher in the United States. Then, I joined the US Peace Corps and moved to Ecuador where I taught English to students of all grade levels through University. I also taught Teaching Methodologies to future English teachers. I have such a passion for teaching, nurturing my students to their highest potential and bringing the world -and all of my experiences - into my classroom. As a teacher, I have also started community gardens, after-school book clubs, photo clubs and parent clubs to connect the community with their children’s learning. I’m also an avid hiker and experienced wilderness backpacker, preferring to spend my time outdoors!
Since Ecuador, I have been traveling, working and living in Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Argentina. Along the way, I write a travel blog about my adventures and the people I meet. I relish in living new experiences and turning them into a story for my readers to enjoy. Teaching others, guiding tours, helping in a hostel, working on a finca or a farm, working with animals, and especially integrating into a family or community- how can I help you?
I promise, I’m super hard working, energetic, and responsible. I’m eager to learn, connect on a human level and experience anything new. I hope to join you soon!
