Hello!
My name's Bec and I will be moving from my hometown of Melbourne, Australia to Ireland and then the UK on a working holiday visa in July, 205. I spent 3 months teaching English to a family in France and after that experience, I realised I wanted to see more of the world and completely immerse myself in a different culture.
I've completed multiple Workaways through Canada in 2019 including a horse ranch, a permaculture farm , house keeping at an Airbnb, cooking and other random but wonderful. These were some of the best experiences I've had and I've made life long friends from these experiences :)
I decided to travel to Europe to meet others and learn about a new culture and approach to life. I would describe myself as self-motivated, caring, fun, giggly and have an open mind. I like to spend my time hiking, surfing, horse riding, watching movies, playing board games and enjoying the simple things in life.
I am an occupational therapist and have worked with people with disabilities over the past 10 years. I teach at a university in Melbourne and in Canada. I have also previously worked as a special education teacher.
I am interested in contributing positively to the environment and I am keen to learn more about sustainability, permaculture and reducing my carbon footprint. I look forward to sharing my skills and knowledge with others all while learning from others in return.Interests

More details about your skills
I worked as an occupational therapist in community health for several years. My role was prescribing assistive equipment to people with disabilities such as wheelchairs and scooters and also providing advice about home modifications such as grab rails or ramps to increase accessibility within the home. I previously worked as a primary school teacher and have experience working with children with special needs. I have basic maintenance and gardening skills but I am a good problem solver and I am happy to learn new skills.

What else ...
I’m a hug animal enthusiast whether that's a pet or farm animals. One thing I'm looking forward to is finding some puffins in Ireland and Shetland ponies in Scotland!
I'm always keen to try new foods, and I never say no to a bit of adventure—whether that’s a hike through the hills or discovering a hidden gem in a new town. I love learning random skills or fun facts just for the joy of it—like solving a Rubik’s cube or keeping my Wordle streak alive! I’m also a big fan of board games, especially Settlers of Catan, Rummikub, and 5 Crowns. Always up for a game night!
One of my big bucket list items is wanting to search for and find the northern lights! Some more information
