Hello!
We are Ana and August! Two fresh college graduates from the United States spending a few months exploring New Zealand!
We both studied biology in college, mostly focusing on environmental and ecological sciences and sustainability. New Zealand was our dream destination as we know how unique its animals, plants, culture and people and ecology are. We want to explore as much as we can and get to know locals in exchange for doing what we can to help out with whatever projects are available.
Ana is a native Spanish speaker in addition to us both being English speakers.
We have a background in farming and gardening, cooking, and animal care. We are both very outgoing and are content with almost any adventure, daily task, or living situation, and especially when it includes interacting with our hosts, visitors, children, animals or nature.
We are really excited to see where we end up and hope to see you soon!

Ana is very passionate about helping out learners of any age and background to learn English. As a native speaker, she is very effective at teaching English to ESL (English second language) learners and is able to work with students of both languages. For native English speakers, she has experience teaching introductory Spanish courses. She is also familiar with Spanish and English use within child care and hospitality settings.

We both have extensive experience working outdoors. August has spent the past 6 summers working as a laborer, groundskeeper, compost facility operator, and most recently as a gardener. Additionally, August has worked as a cook, bartender, and waiter. Ana has experience working with domestic and wild animals on farms in South America and the Bahamas. She has also led backpacking trips and other outing events at college. In addition to her outdoor work, Ana also has experience in the food service industry as a cook, hostess, cashier, and shift manager.
Outside of these physical jobs we both have experience working with children and have worked in biological labs.
