I am a very competent gardener and a good cook, and I enjoy a good homemade meal with family and close friends. Digging in the dirt brings me peace. I speak some French (almost a minor at University) and can make sense of what I read in French. My propensity for language is strong and my ease with people is one of my favorite traits about myself. My profession as a teacher (English teacher with a master's degree in secondary education) has given me a lot of experience teaching all ages, from toddlers to adults, and I am passionate about discussing great writing. I also love demo projects, physical labor, and building things with my hands. I root for the underdog and am supercharged when I can help affect good change. I'm not afraid to try new things, and I am a quick study. I have a rich sense of humor that helps me to hover above most of what life throws at me. I also teach yoga and have a certification from the Himalayan Institute. I love to practice and to meditate outside. Dogs bring me a lot of joy.

I follow politics pretty closely here in the US, and I'm deeply troubled by our current government and the spreading global phenomenon of oligarchy. I'm interested in Workaway for many reasons, and I'd like to try a few different places so I can get an idea of where I may soon choose to live.
