Description
Hey! We are a couple from Antwerp, Belgium.
We love travelling, spontaneous adventures, meeting different people, learning to understand new cultures, and much more.
We’re open-minded, spontaneous people who deeply value meaningful conversations and learning from one another. Arne is a journalist, and Riet has been working as a dentist for the past year. If her knowledge in this area is of any use, she would be happy to help.
Riet is also interested in art and paints/draws in her free time. So she loves to help paint something or help with esthetic things. Furthermore, she is a very easy going person, so she is willing to help out with a broad variety of tasks.
Arne would also be an added value if you need help with construction. He worked as a roofer and after a few years he decided to follow his heart, and go on to study journalism.
He's not only a handyman. He is a pleasant addition to the conversation as he is funny and fond of deeper conversations in which he learns new aspects of politics, opinions, cultures...
We both are hard workers.
We've already had a few adventures. We volunteered with the Maasai in Tanzania. We hiked in the Himalaya Mountains of Nepal, hitchhiked through countries like Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Albania...
Arne grew up doing voluntary work in South Africa and one time Senegal. His family has their own project there now.
Two years ago we travelled for a year in South America and did some volunteering in Colombia and Bolivia. Mainly on farms and self-sustaining projects.
We want to be close to the people of a country, because getting to know them, their culture and interests gives a whole new dimension to our journey and empowers our minds.
P.S.: if you don't want a couple, we're not clingy! So you can consider us anyway ;) -
