Hi! I’m Antonella

I’m an Argentinian currently living in Barcelona, but full time traveling, nature, and new experiences. I love exploring the world, connecting with people from different cultures, and learning from every environment. Right now, I’m looking for an opportunity in a diving center, where I can combine my love for the ocean with my skills in management and communication.

Who am I, and what can I bring to the team?
🌿 Nature and outdoor lover: I’m passionate about outdoor life, trekking, mountains, and winter sports. I have traveled to incredible landscapes, including Argentina, Norway, and Sardinia.

🌊 Water sports enthusiast: I love the ocean and aquatic activities. I practice paddle surfing and paddle sup yoga, and I want to continue improving my skills. Last year, I worked a season in Sardinia, and this year I want to return for another great experience.

🏡 Tourism and hospitality experience: I am the manager of my own Airbnb in Barcelona, which has given me experience in tourism, hospitality, and guest management. I am highly organized, responsible, and used to handling bookings and customer service.

🛠️ Creative and versatile: I have a degree in industrial design, so I am skilled at using design programs, making technical drawings, and working with digital tools. I also enjoy hands-on work and love learning new skills.

🐾 Animal lover: I am a certified dog groomer, which has given me experience working with animals and understanding their needs and behavior.

🧘‍♀️ Health and well-being oriented: I prioritize physical and mental well-being. I don’t smoke or use drugs, I love staying active, eating healthily, and exploring wellness practices like cold water immersion.

🎤 Strong communication skills: I run a podcast, I enjoy engaging with people, and I am bilingual in English and Spanish, allowing me to work with international clients and travelers.

🚤 Water experience: I grew up in a city in Argentina with a beautiful lake, and I’ve always had a deep connection with the water.

A Transformative Experience here, and the best experience EVER!
Already missing the place, the family and the team we build!

Our stay, from April to September, was much more than just a volunteer experience; it was the best experience of our lives, and we are already making plans to return next year. We traveled from Barcelona by ferry, and from… read more the very first moment, we felt like we had arrived home.

Accommodation and Conditions
Having the opportunity to stay and live here is a privilege; there are no places like it. The accommodation was a haven of peace and comfort, providing us with the privacy we needed to rest and recharge. It was equipped with everything we needed, making it even more welcoming. As a digital nomad, I particularly appreciated the good signal and Wi-Fi, which allowed me to work without any issues. In addition to a comfortable space, we received a weekly stipend that helped us immensely with daily expenses, along with breakfast and lunch, which were a delicious extension of the familial warmth that filled the place.

The Work
The work was an enriching experience that required attention, care, and responsibility. It was always a team effort, and communication was clear and supportive. Each morning we started at 7, preparing breakfast for the guests. Our schedule included organizing a buffet table to serve between 8 and 12 people, ensuring that everything was ready and presented in a welcoming manner. Federica, with her dedication and love, cooked the main dishes while we handled the placement of food, served coffee, and prepared scrambled eggs if requested.

After breakfast, we cleaned the buffet area and took care of clearing and cleaning the tables. We were also responsible for cleaning the rooms, which required attention to detail and a commitment to quality service. Throughout our stay, we always received support from the team, allowing us to learn and adapt quickly to our roles. They treated us well, encouraged open communication, and were always there to help us with everything. This collaboration made each day feel like a shared growth in this beautiful journey.

Food and Culture
The food was an experience in itself, filled with exquisite pastas and typical dishes that resonated with the Sardinian soul. But beyond the flavors, what truly filled our hearts was the connection with the team. Federica and her family taught us not only Italian but also the richness of their culture, customs, and the essence of their daily lives. Their generosity knew no bounds; they became more than just bosses—they became friends and, now, part of our family. We connected deeply with their beautiful baby, and that relationship made us feel even more at home.

Location and Activities
While a car is needed for transportation, it is very close to paradisiacal places. Each day, we would stroll to stunning beaches and had the chance to camp and explore the wonderful Sardinia, which was an absolute surprise. The beauty of nature surrounded us and inspired us at every turn.

Acknowledgments
We want to express our gratitude to Federica for forming this incredible team and for teaching us everything we know. Also to Francesco, for his generosity and for making us feel like part of the family.

Conclusion
Would we return? Without a doubt, 190 times! this is a place where positive energy flows, where community and family intertwine in a warm embrace. I RECOMMEND IT A THOUSAND TIMES. We carry this experience in our souls, and we are infinitely grateful for everything. We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience with Workaway!
