Hi Workaway community🌍❤️,
We’re Anneke and Tammo, an open-minded and warm-hearted couple from Cologne/Aachen, Germany👫🇩🇪.
We’re responsible, polite, passionate and bring a positive attitude to every project. Whether in a team or individually, we’re committed to doing our best and are eager to learn along the way😊. Tammo is the hands-on, practical type, while Anneke brings a creative touch, making us a well-rounded team. We’re both 22 and are currently studying—Anneke in Special Education and Tammo in Electrical Engineering.
After graduating high school in 2020, we already spent several months traveling through Norway, Croatia, and Germany, picking up new skills and discovering how rewarding it is to learn through hands-on work. After finishing our bachelor’s degrees in March 2025, we are excited to take on our next big adventure. We’re excited to meet new people, contribute to your projects, and continue learning along the way!🏝️✨Interests

Teaching and Educational Experience👩🏫📖:
Through her studies, Anneke has gained educational knowledge as well as experience working in schools or supporting refugee children in German language classes. Tammo has also given tutoring lessons, so we both have a background in educational work and really enjoy working with kids.
🍲Cooking & Baking🥐:
We’re passionate about experimenting in the kitchen! We make a range of baked goods, from sourdough bread to vegan chocolate cookies and Norwegian cinnamon buns. Some of our favorite dishes include chili sin carne, curry, butter tofu and homemade pizza. We’re also always open to try out new recipes and are excited to try local cuisine.
Farmwork🐑, Gardening🌱 & DIY Skills🛠️🪚:
We’ve worked on various projects through past Workaway stays, such as helping on a sheep farm (which included fence building and sheep care) and assisted in renovating an old shrimp factory. We love DIY work, from basic carpentry to gardening, painting, and light renovation. Tammo is experienced with a wide range of power tools and has already made small furniture items like the nightstand you can see in our photos. Anneke’s creativity shines through in arts and crafts, and she’s always up for creative projects or learning new artistic skills.
In general we are always eager to learn something new :)Age

What else ...
Our experience with Workaway has shown us that it’s the people who make a place special. We are excited about immersing ourselves in the local culture of wherever we stay, looking to form friendships and learning more about the world through the lives of those we meet. We’re also always ready to take on new challenges and look forward to bringing our energy, curiosity, and hard work to your project. We can’t wait to meet you and hopefully share a great experience!
All the best from Germany
