Hello! I am a French national who has been living in the UK for 33 years. I have decided to spend the coming year traveling through Germany: I would like to reconnect with German that I learnt at university and re-discover Germany where part of my mother's family comes from. I have been a teacher of French and English and taught in British schools for 30 years. Now, I am a self-employed teacher and also work as a professional gardener. Last year I spent five weeks teaching English as a volunteer in the beautiful mountains of Usambara in Tanzania.

I can cook and bake. I can help around the house, garden and do bits of DIY. I have a 17 year old dog, which will stay behind with my children, and can help with animals.

I love discovering new places, hiking, meeting people and exchanging with friends, reading, painting, writing and doing yoga. I m a keen cold water swimmer. I start every morning with a dip in the Thames. I have three young grown up children and it seems the perfect time to venture outside the U.K!.

Anne ist eine sehr interessante, nächstenliebende Person, fleißig und selbstlos. Wir haben uns sehr gut verstanden und hatten eine gute Zeit miteinander. Wir sind viel mit meiner Hündin spazieren gegangen.

In diesem Herbst hatte ich die große Freude, Anne kennenzulernen. Ich möchte mich ganz herzlich Wir fanden schnell viele Gemeinsamkeiten für gute und reflektierte Gespräche, das gleiche Geburtsjahr und sehr ähnliche Lebenserfahrungen machten es uns ziemlich leicht. Anne ist eine hervorragende Gärtnerin und auch eine sehr gute Lehrerin! Sie hat mir… read more meinen Garten winterfest vorbereitet, ich bin wunschlos glücklich. Wir nutzten das schöne sonnige Herbstwetter für viele Ausflüge zu meinen Lieblingsplätzen in und um Bamberg und dabei haben wir unsere Sprachkenntnisse mit einem herrlichen Mix aus Deutsch, Englisch und Französisch aufgebessert. Im Garten half uns manchmal einfach der botanische Name der Pflanzen weiter :)
Ich habe die Zeit mit Anne sehr genossen, ich freue mich immer, wenn ich anderen Menschen meine schöne Heimat, die Kultur und die Natur hier zeigen darf. Es gehört auch dazu, die regionalen kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten zu probieren, ich hoffe, dass mir das ganz gut gelungen ist.
Für mich waren diese 2 Wochen mit Anne wie eine Auszeit in meiner eigenen Gegend, in der sonst andere Urlaub machen, und ich habe Lust bekommen, auch mit Workaway umherzureisen…
Liebe Anne, ich wünsche dir viele neue und schöne Erlebnisse, sammle weiter „Momente“, ich hoffe, auch bald damit zu beginnen!

This fall I had the great pleasure of meeting Anne. I would like to thank you very much. We quickly found a lot of common ground for good and thoughtful conversations, the same year of birth and very similar life experiences made it pretty easy for us. Anne is an excellent gardener and also a very good teacher! She prepared my garden for winter and I'm absolutely happy. We took advantage of the beautiful, sunny autumn weather for many trips to my favorite places in and around Bamberg and improved our language skills with a wonderful mix of German, English and French. In the garden, sometimes just the botanical name of the plants helped us :)
I really enjoyed my time with Anne, I'm always happy when I can show other people my beautiful home, the culture and the nature here. It is also part of it to try the regional culinary delicacies, I hope that I succeeded quite well.
For me, these 2 weeks with Anne were like a break in my own area, where others usually go on holiday, and it made me want to travel around with Workaway too...
Dear Anne, I wish you many new and beautiful experiences, keep collecting “moments”, I hope to start doing so soon!
