  • Description

Anna: I would describe myself as a very open(minded) and curious person. I am interested in the great variety of human existence and experience. I love to understand what lies underneath the surface of appearance. This excitement about learning from people usually makes me a good and attentive listener. Conversations can get deep and intense at time, given the right counterpart and circumstances. I enjoy spending time with people that broaden my horizon, while sharing whatever gives purpose to their lives. This can be anything like a passion, a job, a certain knowledge or skillset- just surprise me :) In my free time I like doing sports especially Volleyball and outdoor sports like hiking and biking, sometimes climbing, AcroYoga and dancing ( contact / ecstatic dance). I like playing boardgames and having community time with other people for example at a campfire. Usually I am in a good mood while I am around people, so you will often find me being happy, bubbly and excited. Nevertheless, I can be quite calm and silent at times, enjoying just being instead of doing. I value open and honest communication, that creates a space where personal needs can be expressed and respected. I believe, that knowing, respecting and sharing your needs, creates connection and makes living together a lot easier and more joyful. I try to live a conscious life that means to me to connect to myself and feeling what is in me at any moment the same way as connecting to nature and finding myself as a part of the big universe. This includes for me to reflect upon my behaviour, my fears and my thoughts. Maybe you can summarise it as a journey of self discovery.

I would consider myself as a quiet easy going person, that is usually happy with every situation, because I never know what good can come with it. Nonetheless I prefer honest and clear communication and try to communicate in that way as good as I can.
I'm a curious person interested in a lot of things especially how things work in nature or in things made by humans. And also how people think, why they are doing what they are doing, how do they feel about things and what makes them burn for something. I really like sharing experiences and being surprised by someone.
I really like nature working with it or just being there I think we can learn a lot from it practically and mentally.

I'm a sportive guy and I love climbing and cycling/enduro. also I'm doing AcroYoga even though I consider myself a beginner like in a lot of other sports I looked into at some point like boxing wakeboarding surfing etc.

Anna: When it comes to formal expertise then I can say, that I have studied primary teaching on a Bachelor. I have worked in a Montessori 6-11 setting for two years and in the second year I made my Montessori diploma for 3-12 years old. Since I really like languages in the school I have taught English to the kids which was focused on verbal skills. I taught mostly using games, songs or stories to get them into enjoying the lessons. Teaching for me is not only a job though. The topic education is something I am really interested in. I have chosen the Montessori way cause I think there is something else needed in the next year than the statal education system we have. So much about the formal part. More than English, I can speak Italian and I peaked into the languages Swedish and French. I can cook basic meals and I can ask good questions ;) So if you want to find out more about yourself, talk to me. When it comes to practical skills I don't really have anything in offer, but this journey has the aim to help me grow in this area. I want to try out different practical things like gardening, fixing things, building things.... anything that comes along :)

Hey I'm Simon my formal education is really practical, I started my education as a forestry worker with 16 years and have worked there for over a decade now. As my own side job I opened a business as an Arborist about six or seven years ago after I did a couple of tree climbing courses. I've bin helping to prune our own apple trees at home since I was 12 and so I had a pretty good start into this kind of Work.
With all the practical work and problem solving in the forest or with the machines we had, and I now have, I consider myself a pretty good problem solver with a skill for learning how things work and fixing them.
My father is a carpenter with his own workshop at home and learning from him I think I have some skill in woodworking too.
Also my father did almost every work at home by himself so by helping him I got a peak into a lot of different types of work like working with Mortar for foundations or a simple Wall. Setting up fences hanging up lamps and stuff like that.

  • What else ...

Last year we spent two month cycling starting from Germany through Eastern Europe (we made it to Bosnia :D!), but in December winter caught us, so we stoped by at home for Christmas. Now we are back on the bikes in Spain, cycling along the coast and in the mountains all the way to Gibraltar. We prefer a short stay like a week or some days just to see something else than our front wheel and to get to know people and the culture. Since biking is very calming and not a real brain challenge we are looking forward for new Input while learning from you and trying out new (physical) activities. If there is anything we can teach you, we are more than happy to do so, as well. Since after out trip we want to live in a sustainable community setting we both are really interested to live in communities on the way and figure out how our future home could looked like.
