Hi everyone!
My name is Anna, and I'm a 23-year-old half-Danish, half-English girl who has lived in Copenhagen all my life. I'm currently studying Public Health Science at the University of Copenhagen and will be finishing my undergraduate degree this summer. After that, I'm taking a gap year, spending most of my time in Japan before starting my master’s degree.
Before university, I took two gap years, working and traveling. In 2021, I spent the summer in England doing a Workaway stay at a small bed & breakfast in the Yorkshire Dales. My tasks included greeting guests, serving breakfast, and cleaning rooms. I also had an amazing time hiking, reading, swimming, and cooking Danish specialties for the family to try.
In 2022, I traveled to Italy for three months. I did a short Workaway stay with a family in Northern Italy, where I taught English and played with the kids after school. Afterward, I traveled solo around Northern Italy, staying in hostels, meeting interesting people, and, of course, enjoying incredible food!
Now, I’m excited about my next adventure. After the summer, I plan to get a Working Holiday Visa for Japan so I can spend most of the year traveling and working. I’ve been to Japan once before —on a one-week trip to Tokyo with my dad—and I can’t wait to go back, meet new people, and immerse myself in the culture (and the food!). I’ve also started a beginner Japanese language course and hope to improve my skills while I’m there.Interests

More details about your skills
I’m a quick learner who enjoys taking on new challenges, so I’m open to most types of work. I easily adjust to new environments and always bring a positive attitude to what I do. Since I was 15 years old, I’ve been used to working and making my own money, which has made me independent and resourceful.
I’m currently studying Public Health Science at the University of Copenhagen while working at Statens Serum Institut (Denmark’s National Institute for Infectious Diseases) in infectious disease tracing. This job has strengthened my analytical skills and ability to communicate important health information effectively. Previously, I worked at the Diabetes Association in their counseling office, where I assisted with health-related inquiries and provided support to people living with diabetes.
Before university, I worked full-time for 1.5 years as a teaching assistant at a school for children with special needs, primarily students with autism and ADHD. This experience taught me patience and how to create structured learning environments for children with learning disabilities. Since starting university, I have continued working there as a substitute teacher.
For the past two years, I’ve also worked part-time in a food truck during the summer. Cooking has always been something I’ve enjoyed, and this job has given me experience in customer service, working efficiently under pressure, and, of course, making great food!
When I was 16-18 years old, while doing my A-levels, I worked part-time as a private tutor, teaching Danish, English, and math to students aged 12-14. This gave me experience in lesson planning, adapting teaching methods to individual needs, and helping students build confidence.
Overall, my experiences have given me a versatile set of skills, as well as patience and the ability to work well with people of all ages.Age
