Hello, my name is Anna! I am from the US and have lived all over the country. For the past 8 years I have been living in Jackson, Wyoming teaching science to elementary kiddos and playing in the mountains. I have gotten the travel bug this past year and I want to keep exploring the world! I have come to realize that workaways are on of the best ways to do this because they always you to really get to know a place and the people that make a place magical. This spring I will be traveling in Australia and and South East Asia and I am looking for fun, kind, and meaningful communities to get involved with! I love playing outside, meeting new people, and I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty or put in some hard work.
My educational and professional background is in science education, environmental science and child care. I love animals, science and the outdoors and I love teaching about them. I am a life-long learner which is why I love traveling and workaways!
Childcare experience: I have a Masters degree in Natural Science Education and for the past decade I have worked in primary school education mostly teaching science and STEM. Most recently I was the Director of Education at a Children's Museum, running and teaching summer camps, STEM programs and afterschool. I have also worked nanny this past year between my travels for children aged 2.5 yrs to 12 yrs old.
Horse/ farm experience: I have worked with horses my whole life, growing up I competed as a hunter jumper but started riding western when I moved to the American West. I have raised ducks, egg chickens, and meat chickens and learned to grow greens and veggies in the harsh and very short growing season of America's Rocky Mountains. I love learning new skills especially when it involves farming, homesteading and building!Interests
