I’m very happy to be part of this network.

I’m a kind and passionate person with a curious mind and a love for learning and sharing knowledge. I’m pragmatic, easy-going, and happy with a simple lifestyle. When I’m new to a place I tend to observe and try to integrate into its rhythms and routines. Once I feel settled and my initiative is welcome, I enjoy taking responsibility and contributing actively.

By training, I’m a physician, and I’ve been working full-time as a researcher and academic. While I enjoyed the intellectual work, I’m increasingly drawn to more hands-on, down-to-earth tasks that help me reconnect with people and nature.

Being active and outdoors has always been important to me. Growing up in Switzerland, I fell in love with the mountains and enjoy hiking, camping, climbing, mountaineering, and skiing.

One of the main reasons I want to visit Argentina is my passion for Tango. I’ve been dancing for about ten years, and it has become a core part of who I am. I love the elegance of movement and the deep, silent connection between partners. Some days, all you really need is a long, heartfelt embrace on the dance floor.

I’ve had the chance to live abroad a couple of times already—first at age sixteen, when I spent a year in the United States, and later during my studies, when I did an Erasmus exchange in France. I’ve always loved the idea of immersing myself in everyday life in a different country. For me, that’s what travelling is really about—not just seeing the sights, but truly getting to know a place through its people and daily life.

Through Workaway, I hope to contribute to meaningful projects, connect with people from all kinds of backgrounds, and learn from everyday experiences. I'm happy to help out with a wide range of tasks.
I believe there’s no single right way to live, there are many. And I believe that by opening ourselves to others, we can learn, grow, and connect as human beings.

I studied medicine and have been working full-time in academic research, which has taught me how to plan complex projects, stay organized, and keep a clear overview even in challenging situations.
Although I have no formal training, I enjoy working with my hands and have learned many practical skills over time. I sew and alter my own clothes, paint walls, assemble furniture, and take care of small repairs around the house. I’m comfortable using basic tools like a hammer, saw, or a sewing machine – all self-taught, driven by curiosity and a love of learning. I also know how to cook (nothing fancy, but with care), and I like keeping things tidy and clean.
For many years, I was part of the Scouts, which taught me how to handle responsibility, work in a team, and care for children.
I speak German (Swiss), English, French, and basic Spanish. I enjoy both teaching and learning, and I’m always happy to exchange languages

Form the bottom of my heart, thank you! I am truly grateful for the time I could spend with you here. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms. I leave this place recharged and inspired. I have the utmost respect for the project the people and the great vision they have.

The place
It is a green oasis in the middle of nowhere. To… read more get there you drive several hours through the mountains, sometimes along a gravel road.
Their long term vision is to reforest the place and create a small ecovillage. At the moment, the project is still in its early stages. But you already have all essential comforts such as electricity, hot water and internet.

The work
During my stay we did a lot of work in the garden, planting seeds, preparing beds, watering and general maintenance. There are also daily tasks like collecting wood or helping keep the shared places clean. The work rhythm is very organic, some days more active, others more relaxed. This always depends on the weather and whether an event is taking place. On average the 5 hours/day were respected. And they are very flexible if you need time off.
In the future they want to focus more on retreats and hosting guests. So the volunteer work might change to assisting with the guests a bit more.

Accommodation
There is no dedicated volunteer zone yet. Usually volunteers stay in tents. Since there were few guests during my time there, I could sleep in the domes and even the house.

Food
Volunteers contribute with 40 USD/week for the food, and it‘s absolutely worth it. There is always plenty of fresh and healthy food available. They have a well-equipped kitchen and you can cook and eat whenever you are hungry.

The people
Everyone I met is unbelievably open-hearted. It feels like family.
Currently there is only one person living there full time. At times it can be just her and the volunteers, other times are more busy with the guests and all the helping hands of the community. So you get both peaceful, quiet as well as lively, social moments.

Language
Knowing some Spanish is definitely helpful. I didn‘t speak much and still managed fine. Majo and Diego speak English well and are happy to help you improve your Spanish. But most guests and the neighbors only speak Spanish. So even a basic level helps you connect more deeply with the people.

Recommendations
- bring warm clothes (it can be below 10 degrees during the night and it‘s often windy)
- bring your favorite snacks or whatever else you cannot live without, there are no stores close by

I would absolutely return, and next time I would stay longer. Two weeks felt too short. I left feeling like there was still so much more to explore and contribute at Magico Ensuneo. I fully recommend it to anyone seeking a meaningful, nature-connected, and heart-opening experience.
