Profile information

Description
My name is Ambre, and I'm taking a gap year to reconnect with nature, learn by doing, and have simple yet meaningful experiences.
I love the outdoors, peaceful environments, projects close to the land, and places where life moves in harmony with the seasons. I'm comfortable with manual labor, physical tasks, maintaining spaces, caring for animals, and participating in the daily life of a community. Getting my hands dirty, helping out, learning, and starting over: that suits me perfectly.
I'm reliable, respectful, independent, and easy to get along with. I adapt quickly, follow instructions, and take my commitment seriously. I appreciate simple atmospheres, genuine exchanges, and doing a good job, without any pressure.
I travel alone, with an open and curious mind, and I'm primarily looking for authentic experiences: nature, sustainable projects, farms, ecovillages, animals, boats, or communities living differently.

I'm 22 years old and I see this period as a pivotal time for long-term learning, without rushing. I have time on my side, and I'm choosing to use it to build a solid foundation, particularly through experiential language learning. My priority is English, which I truly want to master, as it's essential for communication, work, and integration in many countries. Beyond this foundation, other languages attract and interest me in the long term: Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, Modern Standard Arabic, Russian, and German. Beyond the language itself, what deeply interests me is how it transforms perception: understanding a language also means understanding another way of thinking, communicating, and seeing the world. Language is inseparable from culture, social norms, and everyday life. That's why I prioritize immersion, simple exchanges, and shared living over purely academic learning. Observing, listening, and practicing in a real-world context allows me to progress naturally while developing a genuine cultural understanding.

More details about your skills
I can participate in most daily tasks, especially in outdoor, group, or active environments.
I am comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, assisting with physical tasks, maintaining spaces, and contributing to cleaning, organization, and the smooth running of a place. I am comfortable with simple manual labor and activities requiring endurance and consistency.
I can also contribute to group life: simple cooking, cleaning, tidying, general assistance, and respecting routines and rules. I work well in a team, but I am also independent when necessary. And I am comfortable around animals.
Generally speaking, I learn quickly and take my work seriously, even when it is repetitive or requires effort.

What else ...
I love horseback riding and, more broadly, anything that involves contact with animals of any kind. Being around them, caring for them, or working with them comes very naturally to me.
I feel surprisingly comfortable in unfamiliar environments. Discovering new places, adapting to unfamiliar terrain, and understanding how things work there are some of the things I enjoy most. I have a real thirst for adventure and discovery, with a desire to live varied, tangible, and unusual experiences, rather than simply "visiting."
I like to challenge myself, step outside my comfort zone, and go a little further than I thought possible, always in a thoughtful and constructive way.
Besides that, I appreciate quieter, more shared moments: I really enjoy board games. I also enjoy reading, for what it allows me to learn, understand and open up new perspectives, as well as creative activities like painting and drawing.
