Hello! My name is Amandine, I’m 23 years old and I’m from France. I’m currently working as a hairdresser.

I decided to join Workaway because I would love to improve my English and have a meaningful experience abroad. I can understand and write English quite well, but I still find it a bit difficult to speak, which is why I really want to practice in a real-life environment.

I am a positive, respectful and easy-going person. I really enjoy simple things like doing sports, reading, spending time in nature, and I love animals. I also truly love connecting with people, sharing experiences and discovering new cultures. I am independent, but I also enjoy sharing daily life with others.

I would love to stay with a kind and understanding host family who is open to cultural exchange and patient while I improve my English. I am very motivated to help and learn, and I will always do my best in any task given.

I am especially interested in staying in California, around San Francisco if possible, but I am open to other opportunities as well.

I am very interested in improving my English, especially speaking, as I would like to feel more confident and comfortable in everyday conversations. I can already understand, read and write English, but I really want to practice speaking as much as possible during my stay. French is my native language, so I would be happy to help or teach it if needed. I also have a basic level in Spanish. My main goal is to improve my English while sharing a cultural exchange with my host.

I have been working as a hairdresser for 9 years, which has helped me develop strong people skills, patience, attention to detail, and a good sense of responsibility. I am used to working with different types of people and making them feel comfortable.

I also have experience taking care of children, as my mother is a certified childminder and I used to help her and babysit during my free time and teenage years. I am comfortable with children and enjoy spending time with them.

As I live on my own, I am fully independent and used to managing daily tasks such as cleaning, organizing, and cooking to keep a clean and healthy environment.

I also have two cats and have always lived with animals, so I am comfortable taking care of pets and understand their needs.

I am reliable, adaptable and always willing to help with any tasks needed.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching movies and series, and staying active. I do a lot of sports and I really enjoy being outdoors, especially going on walks or hikes in nature.

I also have a motorcycle license, so I enjoy riding when I can.

Thanks to my job as a hairdresser, I really like connecting with people, having conversations and sharing moments together. I am sociable but I also appreciate calm and simple moments.

I love animals and I feel comfortable being around them.
