Description
Hi there! I'm Aman, a recent graduate from the University of British Columbia's Psychology Undergraduate program. My close friends would describe me as an extraverted, silly, easy-going, and considerate person. I love working with my hands, cooking, participating in protests, and chatting about art.
I'm looking to travel to help me stew on what I've learned while meeting new people and discovering new ways of being. Despite studying abroad, university has been a bit of a bubble for me. I'm from Vancouver, British Columbia and have lived in Amsterdam for five months so I'd love to experience a less westernized environment.
I'm really invested in utilitarianism and anti-imperialism and I hope my experiences with WorkAway will inform my activism in a sort of "let the world change you and you can change the world" fashion. My spare time is usually spent volunteering, playing tennis, producing music, and as of recently, reading the news.
I'm quite new to WorkAway and haven't travelled much but am really looking forward to whatever this experience brings!Interests

More details about your skills
I'm generally a quick learner and my expertise includes all branches of communications (photography, graphic design, copywriting, film production, audio production, etc), crisis response, psychology, cooking, education, and research. As of recently, I've been exposed to construction and woodworking. I'd love to learn more about farming and engineering and am always happy to teach if given the opportunity.
My professional experiences centre around communications, marketing, and graphic design. Outside of that, I've worked at a museum giving tours and running school programs. I've worked as a swim instructor for ages zero (yes, zero) to fifteen. I've also taught music production as part of a club that I founded at my home university. This club also helped me develop my skills in music production, radio broadcasting, grant writing, networking, and other boring non-profit things.
My volunteer work focuses on crisis response and again, boring non-profit management things. I've volunteered at a suicide hotline in Vancouver, with the Red Cross, at a homeless shelter, with an elderly health-advice phone service (long story) and again, my university club.Age
