  • Description

We’re currently half way through our 1st WHV, and so far we’ve had an incredible time travelling, working, Au Pairing and House Sitting around Queensland.

We're now at the stage where we're looking to find our longer term home as we think about where to live work and settle for the next few years. We'd love to get a feel of places we could call home by experiencing Workaways across NSW, VIC, and SA.

Our time in Australia so far has taken us out of our comfort zone; trying new things, learning new skills and meeting people. We've integrated into a family during our time as Au Pairs, made the best furry friends as house sitters, become master furniture builders, painters and AdHoc tech support for friends, family and Neighbours on Bribie Island. We think being a Workawayer is the perfect next experience to utilise all our skills and experience family and community as we explore new areas of Australia.

This is our first time as Workawayers, and a new experience for us as, back home in Dundee, Scotland, we were usually the ones hosting friends and family, hosting dinner and games nights, and planning spontaneous trips to the beach, and walks in the countryside.

    More about us:
    Alice, 28
The organised one. Loves all things creative, crafty and sustainable. Makes a good coffee. Loves to cook but often skips using a recipe. Talented thrifter and repurposed. Always hunts down the best art, cultural experiences and foodie spots when travelling. Has no sense of direction. Eats all the fruits and veggies.

    Jack, 27
The Spontaneous one. A tech guru that can fix anything. Loves a good coffee. Always has a fun fact. Spontaneous road trip initiator. Always down for a hike but never remembers his water. 50% Boy Scout/50% City Boy. Very proud Scotsman, and golfer in training. Was born with a built in compass. Is learning to love fruit and veg.

We both love an adventure, whether it’s urban or out in the wilderness, and love an excuse to bring people together! We’ve been exploring Scotland for the past 6 years and can’t wait to get even more stuck in here in Aus, meeting new people and exploring even more!

  • What else ...

We can provide reference from House Sitting, Au Pairing, Employment and from a rental all here in Australia. Jack has a Australian Police Check due to previous employment, and Alice is happy to acquire one if needed.

We have our own vehicle (Non 4WD), so we can easily access almost any location. We have a rooftop tent which we can use if needed, but would prefer to stay indoors as we move towards Winter.

Alice is vegan, but is very happy to eat fruit and veg or cook for herself if this does not fit your lifestyle.
