  • Description

    Hello everyone!
I’m Alessia and I live in Vicenza, a city in northern Italy just an hour away from Venice, which has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 1994 thanks to the magnificent Renaissance architecture of Andrea Palladio.
The love for my city and my country made me interested in art and architecture from a very young age. In 2023 I graduated in Cultural Tourism from the University of Padua, with a thesis focused precisely on Palladian works in Vicenza.
After that, I worked for a year at the Civic Museums, where I had the opportunity to experience various cultural environments, from the art museum to the natural history and archaeology museum, as well as the war history museum.
I studied English, Spanish and German at language high school. It’s been a while since I’ve practised these languages, so I’d love to have an experience that allows me to brush them all up, especially Spanish.
While waiting to start my Master’s degree in November, my dream would be to spend a few weeks in Spain, where I’d love to meet new people and discover countless places, stories and traditions... and why not, perhaps even leave a little bit of myself with you too!

  • More details about your skills

My study and work experiences have equipped me with a range of skills in the tourism sector, including welcoming visitors, providing historical and artistic information (even in other languages), setting up exhibitions and helping to promote cultural heritage. I’m not sure whether these skills will be useful during my stay, but who knows?
My studies at language high school, combined with study trips to Spain, England and Germany, have given me a solid ability to communicate in all three languages, both in writing and speaking.
While working in a museum and interacting with tourists from all over the world, I realised how important it is to master foreign languages, so I’m really hoping to have opportunities that will allow me to speak them even more fluently.
I gave private lessons to a young boy for a year and a half, helping him with his homework and studying, mainly languages and humanities subjects like literature, history and art. So, I would also be happy to support families by helping children with their studies and, if needed, with their free time activities too.

  • What else ...

Like a true Italian, I love cooking, especially traditional pasta dishes from my country, that I can prepare for you. At the same time, I really enjoy eating and trying new food, so I’m looking forward to tasting some delicious local specialities!
I’m an animal lover and I especially like cats. Unfortunately, I don’t have pets, but I’m always happy to help anyone who needs support in looking after their four-legged friends: playing with them, feeding them or taking them for walks.
I love visiting, discovering and observing everything around me. That’s why I usually prefer walking instead of taking public transport, because it allows me to fully enjoy every new landscape.
I often walk a lot, even 15 to 20 kilometres in a single day, so I hope to have many beautiful places to explore during my Workaway experience!
