Hello! Aleka and Joel here currently looking for volunteering opportunities in Argentina and Chile in November and December. I have recently finished studying sustainability and climate change adaptation, after a busy few years in Wales I am taking some time out before relocating to Canada at the end of 2024.

I have obtained my Permaculture Design Certificate back in 2019 and have been applying the principles where possible since. For the last 5 years I have been growing my own vegetables, fruits and flowers. Over this time I have also volunteered at several sustainability projects in the UK, Europe and Malaysia.

I have passion for looking for the goodness in people and situations and this is portrayed in my work ethics. Interacting with new people and being able to share cultures, backgrounds and stories with people all over the world is something I have enjoyed and also learnt a lot from so far on my travels trip. I am adventurous and always up for trying new things, as well as keeping up with activities that I am already interested in. At home I regularly run, keep fit and practice yoga so will be continuing this on my travels.

During my free time I also volunteer at a community food kitchen, cooking meals for around 50 people at a time. I love cooking at home for friends and family, at home I eat a plant based diet and have lots of good dishes I would be willing to cook for communities/ groups of people.

One day I hope to have access to land where I can start a permaculture/ education project. I haven't quite decided where I want this base to be... maybe it will come clear to me on this trip :)
