A small backpackers hostel on the Rio Dulce, 5 miles out of Livingston on the Caribean coast. We're located in a Qek'Chi maya village in the middle of the rainforest. There are caves, waterfalls and canyons nearby. The hostel is run by an English/Dutch couple and we cater to travelers from around the world. Also, we often get visits from the sailers who live on the Rio Dulce during the hurricane season. So it's a sociable place without being a party hostel.

Helping with Tourists
We're looking for a person, or preferably a couple who can help us with general things around the hostel and other responsibilities. We can use a hand with serving our family-style dinners in the evening and being present at the hostel to socialise with the guests, get them out on tours and serve the (little) bar. We will still be present too, so we can switch resposibilities between you and us however it works out for the day. You get room and board, a couple of drinks a day and extra drinks at cheap rates.
If you have experience driving boats and are willing to commit to a longer period of time you can also help with picking up/ dropping off guests and do boat tours.
English and Spanish
A private room with shared bath at the hostel
Your benefits are to have a cheap (or free, depending on you spending ;) stay in a beautiful location. We're within a half day's reach of Belize, Honduras, Semuc Champey and Tikal and the river itself is great for exploring. Besides this, you get a chance to meet backpackers and sailers from around the world.
