What else ...
We live water-front in a small village on the northern part of Tauranga harbour. The beaches here are magical. While our home is situated on the harbour, the ocean (surf) beach just is a 15 minute walk from our house. From Athenree, day trips available include: the beaches of Tauranga and Mount Maunganui; Cathedral Cove and the lower reaches of the Coromandel peninsular; Rotorua with its thermal and cultural attractions and of course Hobbiton near Matamata.
Prior to our retirement we lived in Shanghai and before that South Korea. We have travelled extensively and enjoy meeting people of all ages from all corners of the world.
A car is essential here in order to explore the many lovely spots easily. There are no stores in the village. Nearest shopping is at Katikati and Waihi Beach, both approximately ten minutes drive.
We are very flexible about living/helping options. Helper tasks will include general gardening, section maintenance, and some light house work. Four-five hours of help daily with the option to do eight hours one day and take a free day to follow.
At the moment we are working on garden projects so if you are happy to work with us in the garden we would love to have you.
